My Mom is having a BBQ today...WWYD

I am very early in my pregnancy and we have not told anyone. Now of course drinks will be served. What do I tell people for a reason that I am not drinking. Dh thinks I shoud take the and give it right to him! (LOL) But i really need some ideas or by the end of the night everyone will figure it out.

honestly that early in PG I grabbed a glass of wine, drank a sip, fake drank when people were looking & dumped some out when people were not looking.

I am a big drinker so people know right away that if I am not drinking something is up. I was able to hide it at the 4th of July, a party the week after, and then a BBQ the week after that.

You could also say you've had a stomach bug the past couple of days and want to take it easy on the drinking.

We had a bunch of parties that we attended before letting people know, and I would use different excuses, that I'm driving, or I don't feel good.. or I would have one drink in front of me all night and have DH drink it down for me, and nobody was the wiser

I would accept drinks and just dump them or put them down and walk away. I would hold a beer and dump some (usually in the bathroom) or have DH drink some. I'd take fake sips.

Whenever there was a bartender I'd ask for a cranberry and seltzer with a stirrer so it looked like a drink.
