On the plug part there should be a little red button press it and then try turning it on. If that doesn't work try plugging it into a diff. outlet first, if it still doesn't work I believe you get a 1 year warranty on it.

I'd try looking chi up online see if there is an address you can send info to so they can honor the one yr. warranty. Or you can try taking it to ulta anyway.

Re: my chi flat iron
I just bought one..the instructions inside the box says it has a 1 yr warranty, to take it back to the place you purchased it from and they should replace it.

Re: my chi flat iron
Try to take it back. I had that issue with my first Chi (got it in Macys but still had the reciupt)
I heard there were some issues with the Chi. Mine literally stopped working too.

Re: my chi flat iron
okay, so we went to ulta today and they refused to take it back without the reciept.
I was really considering taking a pp's advice but luckily I ended up finding the reciept (in my pocketbook the whole friggin time!) so they exchanged it for me.

You kept the receipt in your pocketbook since Dec?
Now I am worried that my chi, which I have had a whole lot longer will poop out. But at least I have an idea of what to do if it does

I could hardly believe what I was looking at! It was in my day planner - all crumpled up.
The girl at the counter said this has happened to her twice already. I guess they aren't reliable. But - this time I put the recipet in the box (immediatley) so when this happens again - I won't have a problem.

Maybe they got a defective lot. I have had mine for a year and a half and to be honest I don't treat it very well at all, and it still works great.
