My backyard/landscaping progress pics
DH & I do EVERYTHING ourselves, so most of our stuff is an evolution.
We built a small pond out of 90% free/recycled stuff (thanks MrsDiamondGrl for the rocks!)
a couple of months ago but didn't finish landscaping it.
Its still not completely done, the small stockade fence will be replaced with a white picket fence with a gate so i can get to my hammock. the metal fence & unlandscaped area behind the pond is part of the chicken run & I plan to grow tall things against that fence.
I also want to add river rocks(pebbles) around all of the plants in the shade garden & hopefully some of those plants will bloom soon.
this is the sunny side of the pond & some of the plants
here's the shady part but my pics are terrible, I'll have to take more when the sun hits it later
this is what that corner of the yard looked like when we bought the house
And then we took apart our firepit which was sort of close to the house several weeks ago & we moved it out to the back of the yard
you can see the bunny hutch, garden boxes, chicken coop & greenhouse here
here's the bunny, just cause he's cute
And then we made some changes to the front yard
Here is the house when we bought it
and now after a little improvement, we still have big plans but this looks much better
DH ripped out all of the old bushes & we added a few new things, we restained the front deck & we are redoing the walkway & driveway next
We also decided to make the area in front of our circular driveway a big area for plants instead of grass because it didn't grow well there.
These grasses also came from MrsDiamondGrl's yard last spring
So that was our memorial day weekend of work, we busted arse & then had a BBQ on Monday.
