moms who have children very close in age

So i am now 8 weeks preg and i have an 8 month old at home... they will be 16 months apart..

question what did you do about the crib situation...


i know the standard recommendation is that once they are 36 inches long they should be out of the crib to begin with.. and well since he is already 34 inches long at 8 months i dont even really know if i am going to be able to keep him in the crib for safety reasons but i was just curious what everyone else has done

My 2 are 15 months apart and they are now almost 2 (she will be 2 next month) and 3. They are both still in cribs and DS (my 3 year old) is taller than 36 inches. He hasn't climbed out yet either. I just make it up as a bed now with a pillow and blanket. I did ask the ped. and he suggested that I leave him especially if he isn't climbing out. He also said that his kids were in cribs until they were 4 almost 4.5.
My 2 year old isn't a climber and has no clue how to even attempt to get out. She is probably 33 or 34 inches.

my girls are 14 months apart. I moved my oldest into a twin bed at 17 months old with no problems.

I have twin boys who are 22 months and one just jumped out of the crib last week hasnt did it since but for saftety reasons i bought him a toddler bed.. Trying it out tomm nite.. But I wouldnt be too worried about the height i know usually around 2-2 1/2 most kids jump out.. But I would keep your baby in as long as you could.. A lot of my friends are having trouble because @ 2 I dont think kids most kids are ready for big kid beds.. OMG im scared for tomm nite..

My kids are 12 months apart. DS is 13 months, DD is 3 weeks. Obviously I couldn't put my 12 month old in a bed lol. I plan on keeping DS in his crib until we get pregnant with #3, which won't be for another 18 months-2 years.

my two are 18mths apart. MY DD just turned 2 last month, she stayed in her crib. My DS has been in the orginial co-sleeper which holds up to 35lbs....so he just turned 7months. So we have now transitioned him to the crib and my DD is now in a twin bed. No need to buy 2 cribs....

my boys are 16 months apart too!!! when my youngest was ready to go in the crib, my older son who was almost 2 at the time went into toddler bed no problem!!!

thanx for everyones input... i really did not intend on having the baby sleep in my room for that long... little joey was in the bassinet for about 3 weeks and i felt like even when he was sleeping i was always awake.. and with my husband working nights now it will prob be even worse.. besides my ds was too long for the bassinet by 4 weeks... believe it or not this is what is stressing me out more then anything....

I'm due any day now but DS#1 and DS#2 are 2 years 3 days apart and they were both in cribs for 8 months. DS#1 was really close to three when he went to a big boys bed - just wasn't ready.

Now DS#2 and DC#3 will be 16 months apart as well and they will both be in cribs for as long as they need to. We were lucky to get a crib from my sister in law so we have two cribs. 16 months is stil so young and he's still baby himself so he'll be in there until maybe 2/ 2.5.
