I let my kid eat off of the floor. Chat Icon

Debbie must have thought I was a nut, because I put Cheerios and puffs on the floor for Steven to snack on all the time. He can't reach them on the table and if I put them on a plate, they'll end up on the floor anyway. So, I just dump them onto the floor and he picks them up like a little vaccuum.

I don't get mad when strangers touch his hands.

I let the dog lick him all day. Chat Icon

I let him crawl in the grass.

I still rock him to sleep even though I don't think he "needs" it anymore, but because I love to do it Chat Icon

I put Andrews vitamins in his milk.

I don't care too much about germs either.

Sometimes if Andrew wakes up early I give him his milk in his playpen and put on Blues Clues for 30 mins or so.

Andrew watches a good dose of TV everyday.

I give Andrew pizza a lot. It seems to be the only thing he will always eat.

Re: Mommy Confessions....

It probably about time to confess these things...

- if Lucas doesn't finish a breast milk bottle I put the rest back into the refrigerator to use later and I don't care how much later it is.

- I have dropped the bottle on Lucas' face while he was sleeping too many times to count (I fell asleep for half but was wide awake for the other times - butter fingers)

- I laugh when I see pictures of Lucas crying but it's his face that makes me laugh - NOT the fact that he is crying

- I have picked DS's nose when he was sick and the stupid nasal aspirator couldn't get it out.

- I have used a cup to catch his pee when he takes a bath Chat Icon

- I have left him alone on the ottoman if I have had to run to get something really quickly.

- When DH is not around I say "mama" over and over to DS in hopes that it will be his first word - and I mean I say it non-stop Chat Icon

Re: Mommy Confessions....

This is the best thread ever!!

I have given DS motrin many many nights in a row when he is teething

He rolled off the bed with me once, never told DH, he would never let me live it down

I use the cart covers and I cringe when he goes on the park swing or touches public stuff because I have a germphobia Chat Icon

I think it is easier to give him formula because I use Gentlease (powdered) and I def know when I switch over to milk and I going to forget to buy it and think buying it is going to be a PITA Chat Icon

I confess I didnt think it is a bad thing to park DS in front of TV so I could get things done around the house or shower Chat Icon

I never used a shopping cart cover.
I don't think my kids should be germ free.

I also let them eat off of the floor at home, we like to say a little dirt never hurt.

I don't bathe them as often as most do.

The mornings I yell a little bit too much, since I am always in a rush and stressed, and I feel bad about it. Chat Icon

Re: Mommy Confessions....

I've forgotten to put the dog's food bowl up when DD's out and about on the floor too many times. It's a game to her now. Get to the bowl and shovel in as many nuggets as I can before mommy puts the bowl on the counter!!!

DD is fascinated with DH's cell phone charger. We've let her play with it b/c she always protests when we take it away. Two nights ago, DH stuck the end (the part you stick into the phone) in his mouth to see what was so fascinating about it. Well, you get that funny feeling like you do when you stick your tongue on a 9-volt battery. My child is getting mildly electrocuted and we have been letting her. The weird part about it is that she loves it.

I've put worn, dry diapers back on her.

I let the dog lick her. I let her feed the dog from her high chair. I just think it's so darn cute.

I let her unroll and tear up the toilet paper. Again, because it's so darn cute.

When strangers say what a cute mohawk your little boy has, I just say "Thanks!". If they can't see that she has flowers on her green shirt and pink on her shoes, I'm not going to correct them. Her hair will grow eventually, right?

Yes, it will grow in. DS didnt have a mohawk but it did stand straight up like fuzzy chick hair from 4-6mths old. Chat Icon

Re: Mommy Confessions....

I also confess...

- we BD with DD in the cosleeper right next to us

- I clipped her finger the other day instead of her nail (not on purpose)

- I leave her on the changing table for long periods of time - she loves to lie there and look at the border (animals just the right height)

- I sterilize nothing!

My turn

- I let DS watch TV (baseball, football with daddy or HGTV).
- I put a boob in his mouth if he does not stop crying in the evening. I use my boob as a pacifier to put him to sleep.

Re: Mommy Confessions....

The stroller carriage tipped over when DS was like 6 weeks old. I was so embarassed.

I also put him in front of Little Einsteins way more than I should in the morning when I have to get things done.

I also don't care too much about germs

She's fallen off the bed twice (DH only knows about 1 time)

If she doesn't finish her bottle I try again about an hour later with the same bottle - she's always been fine.

This morning she woke up at 7:30, I gave her a bottle and made her fall asleep next to me and we slept until almost noon.

I wake her up from a nap so that we can go shopping

there is more I just can't think of them

I confess that I've never owned that shopping cart thingie.

I confess that I teach my son hip-hop and pop songs instead of nursery rhymes because I really don't know them Chat Icon (you gotta hear his version of Whine Up! Chat Icon)

I confess that I curse in Spanish horribly in front of him because somehow I think he won't pick that up Chat Icon

I confess that on weekends, if I go to get him out of his crib and he refuses to come out, I go back to bed until he feels like getting out.

Love these!

I think I let DD watch too much tv. She loves Moose on Noggin, Elmo and Wonderpets. It's usually on in the background all the time.

I give her a pacifier even though she's 1 and the dr said I should start to wean her off of it.

I am one of those people who use those shopping cart covers, disposable placemats and a TON of wipes and antibacterial stuff - I am a germaphone - and DH is even worse! Our poor child!

BUT - even though I'm a germaphobe I don't mind that much when my parents dogs lick DD - DH would freak though.

I buy her way too many expensive outfits from boutiques like Dennys!

I say I hate working but don't think I could ever be a SAHM.

i let hannah watch noggin on the computer during dinner sometimes.

i let her unroll and rip the toilet paper (and sometimes eat it) when i am in the bathroom and i am home alone. its the only way i get a chance to pee!

i let her chew on my keys when i need to make a phone call or check my email.

Re: Mommy Confessions....

Love this!

I confess that when my daughter ask for something followed by "pwease, pwease, pweaeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!" she always gets it, not matter what it is.

I confess that I often give her cookies or a snack in the store so she will stay in the cart without complaining. (the UNCOVERED cart, by the way)

I confess that I spend way too much money on toys and crap she doesn't even want to play with by the time we get it home or after it comes out of the box.

I also let her play with my cell all the time because I think it's too cute when I ask her who she is calling, she tells me Buzz lightyear, and when I ask her if she knows the number she says "3".

Completely agree with your germ theory.

I will add:

I am a screaming mom. I hate that about myself but I am. Definitely working on it.

My kids have skipped brushing their teeth more times than I care to admit.

Same here for the above.

Lately I have a very short fuse and today I got angry and Sarah started to cry and yelled at me to stop. I feel like the worst mom ever. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Add me to the list too!!! I sometimes joke with a friend, that some nights I feel like "psycho mom" paid a visit. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Mommy Confessions....

This is a great idea...my turn:

Some evenings, I count the hours and minutes until DS goes to bed

I think I may be turning him into a "sissy-mary" (DH's word) because I'm obsessed with keeping him clean and neat

I accidentally clipped DS's bottom lip into the top buckle of his carseat (I almost cried too)

Sometimes I long for the child-free days again, but then I feel really guilty when he bats his baby-blues at me! Chat Icon
