Re: Mommy Confessions....

I confess:
I give DD food when she cries (she always wants to eat)
I give her snacks and she drags it across the floor while she is eating it
I also give her apple juice in a sippy cup

Completely agree with your germ theory.

I will add:

I am a screaming mom. I hate that about myself but I am. Definitely working on it.

I had to stifle a smile when Joseph stole Maddie's meatballs off of her pizza & she whacked him in the head for it. I love that she's learning how to stand up for herself - even if it means she's hitting her brother.

My kids have skipped brushing their teeth more times than I care to admit.

Even though I yelled about it, I thought it was genius that Joseph stuck his head into the refrigerator so he wouldn't get caught eating the Cool Whip. If he was only genius enough to wipe it off his nose, he would have been in the clear.

As much as I feel bad for DH when they fight over how gets to sit next to me & who gets stuck next to Daddy, I love- love-love that I'm the favorite.

I have to say I am pretty much in agreement with you on these!

That, even though DH and I have agreed on a "no sweets" rule, every Sunday morning, when I let DH sleep in, I take Alex for an early walk down to the local kosher bakery, and I buy her a cookie. I just adore how excited she gest the whole walk down there, and how she starts screaming at the top of her lungs "COOOOKKKKIIIIEEEE!!!" Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Mommy Confessions....

Wait, germs are BAD for Cailen???

You mean, the floors of his daycare aren't sterile, because he spends the entire day rolling all over the floor. And I'm sure the toys he puts in his mouth weren't in some other child's mouth 30 seconds before...

So far, I'm pretty good with the viatmin thing, but germs are our little friends in this home!! Chat Icon

I enjoy reading all of your confessions. It makes me feel more human and like I might not be the terrible mom I think I am when I reuse a clean diaper, or use the TV as a babysitter...

Oh good a chance for me to repent. Chat Icon
Just today I forgot to change Maddie's diaper after she woke up from her nap and only realized when I went to pick her up and felt that the diaper weighed about 10lbs.
If she drops food on the floor and she wants to eat it so be it at least she's eating.
DH and I are both guilty of skipping giving her a bath some nights just because we're too tired to do it.
And my most guilty pleasure is parking her in front of the TV in the morning in my attempt to get another 30mins of sleep. Chat Icon

Re: Mommy Confessions....

One more, our room is right next to Maddie's and there is a creak in the floor right outside our room. When DH got up in the morning the stupid creaky floor would always wake up DD. Now I have DH tiptoeing out of our room like a teenager trying to sneak out of the house all for my love of sleep!

Re: Mommy Confessions....

Let me start by saying that I LOVE this post!!!
I am guilty of just about everything you girls have mentioned. I have yelled, let DS crawl on dirty floors, couldn't wait to get back to work after summer, don't use a carriage cover, etc...
But I feel it's my responsibility to add a new one to the mix, I confess that after putting DS to bed, I have gotten drunk with my friends- on more than one occasion. Chat Icon

Amen! What a great idea for a thread. I have sooo many. Let's see

More times that I'd like to admit I could not shower w/o baby einstein
I too have given DD food back that she threw on the floor
I too have given Infant Motrin for 2 weeks straight or more til the tooth finally broke through
I never go in to check on her after she's asleep Chat Icon I value my sleep too much to risk waking her
I too forget the vitamins at least two or 3 times / week
And DH's tuggin me away from the computer b/c I obviously spend too much time on LIF Chat Icon

I wouldnt even know where to begin..my eldest is 13!!!!!

hmmmmmm....

For the 13 year old..sometimes I dont really care if she sleeps until 3pm on weekends and then spends the entire day in her room..Ive even forgotten she's home.

For the 8 year olds....Ive forgotten to make them dinner and then I get annoyed when they tell me they are hungry..

For DS just 8 weeks old..I have propped his bottle so I can come on here and enjoy myself for a 1/2 hour..

i confess that it is mostly my fault that DD is so spoiled, but she is just so cute that sometimes i cant help it. Chat Icon

i confess that i say/do the same things my mom said/did to me when i was a kid even though i vowed i never would. Chat Icon

i confess that i actually like when DD sleeps in my bed because i love to cuddle with her and watch her sleep. Chat Icon

I agree with the germ thing too, I never use a shopping cart cover or wash his hands before every meal. (Unless really visibly dirty). Never washed one single toy in 2 yrs!

I give him more sweets then I would really like to admit. Chat Icon

I confess that once or twice I have actually forgotten to give him lunch..

Re: Mommy Confessions....

Please! I have too many to list... Especially with my second child, I get so lax!!

My kids eat McD's or Wendy's about 1x a week (usually after being out for the day and they haven't eaten).

My 3 year old loves Captn Crunch and Corn Pops for breakfast.

My 3 year old is up waiting for daddy to come home (and daddy doesn't get home until 11 sometimes! Chat Icon ).

My 17 month old rules to roost. I give in to her just so she doesn't pull a tantrum (something my older one never got away with).

Oh, plenty more I just won't list...

what a great thread!
I am guilty of most of the things listed above!

I confess to chasing DD all over the house at meal times shoving pieces of food in her mouth while she plays or watches TV because she refuses to finish much of her food in the highchair.Chat Icon

I confess to thinking about going back to work because being a SAHM the last few months is harder sometimes.Chat Icon

I confess to bringing DD in my bed when she wakes in the AM and letting her watch TV for an hour so I can get some more rest.Chat Icon

I confess to never using the shopping cart cover I registered forChat Icon

Re: Mommy Confessions....

DH gets up with DS at 6am in the morning to let me sleep now that I am newly preggo- i feel guilty because its less time with Matty before I go to work but I am SO tired lately.

Matty eats cheerios off the floor

The dogs lick his face

We don't use the shopping seat cover a lot

When he is cranky I put his wiggles DVD on- and give him his binky which I prefer to use only for naps. This has been a lot lately!

I didn't notice his fingers were near the hinges and he closed the cabinet door on his fingers- he cried a bit but no real damage.

It's definitely easier to go to work than be at home with him all day! Chat Icon

ETA: Lately we give him breakfast in the living room, chasing him around while he watches the Wiggles- he is so cranky before his morning nap because he won't sleep past 6am no matter what!!! Also gulity of 1/2 juice 1/2 water in the sippy!

Re: Mommy Confessions....

I too am a little easy going about germs, unless there is a sick child with green stuff running out of their nose
and also forget vitamins sometimes.
A few of my own, hmmm, I have given her formula/milk left out slightly longer than an hour,
tried to put on Barney at 3:30 to sneak in an afternoon nap (never successful, she jumps around in the bed too much)
Let her eat the breakfast she threw on the floor, even if its dinner time,
have had mcdonalds & mac and cheese for lunch quite a few times more so because I can never think of what to give her
Ugh, the list goes on, this topic makes us all seem a little more humanChat Icon

Oh, and thank you to all of you who said it is easier sometimes to be at work than a SAHM because I feel like that sometimes but always thought maybe it was simply because the grass is always greener on the other side.
