Mommies of 2 or more...re: birthweight?

I am trying to prep for DS #2, and even though, I thought I wouldn't buy clothes.. sinc I have everything from #1 well...I HAVEChat Icon ....

SO..were your DC's birthweight fairly close, or drastically different? For example, everyone is telling me that he will likely be just like DS1 was...never in NB size, and right to 3 months. I know that is not definate, but wanted to get a general idea from you ladies...

THANK YOU!!

Re: Mommies of 2 or more...re: birthweight?

DD# 1 was almost 2 lbs lighter than DD#2 and DD#3. DD#2 and DD#3 were 4 oz apart.

With my 3rd, she wears all the hand me down's of the 2nd. Sure we got a few new things, but it's mostly the handme downs.

Re: Mommies of 2 or more...re: birthweight?

DS#1 8lbs 3oz (6days early)
DS#2 6lbs 8oz (2.5 wks early)

They probably would've been about the same weight if I went a little longer with DS#2

Very close - even though DS was born at 39.5 weeks (7 lbs 10 oz) and DD was born at 41 weeks + (7 lbs 12 oz).

DD#1 was 20 inches and 9lbs 4 ozs at 38 weeks.

DD#2 was 20 inches and 9 lbs 5 ozs at 37 weeks.

Interestingly enough I never used newborn sizes for DD#1 - she went right to 0-3 - which was big but fit her.

DD#2 on the other hand - the 0-3 was swimming on her and my mom ran out and bought us some newborn clothes so that I had them when I got home from the hospital. She wore them for 2-3 weeks.

Re: Mommies of 2 or more...re: birthweight?

Some of my DC's birth weights were drastically different. But as a trend, with each subsequent child the birth weight went up. For example, my first DC was 6 lb 15 oz but my last was 8 lb 6 oz.
