Missing school for a family vacation
So my son will be missing a week of school because we are going on a family vacation. I already spoke with the teacher and she said she will give me some work for him. She said just to send in a note so the school doesn't call home everyday. What should I say in the note?? This is the first time he is missing school for vacation.

I would say family obligation. That is what our school tells us to put

When I took my DD out of school for Disney last year (she missed 6 days of school) I didn't specify "why" she wouldn't be there in the note, I just said that she would be out of school starting on this date and returning on this date. However, I did let the teacher know all of the specifics about a month and half ahead of time.

This. We have already been doing extra work that they will be covering while we are gone.
