Mike Huckabee - is he helping or hurting his party?

Do you think he's helping the party by keeping a dialogue open in a campaign he almost certainly can't win, or is he hurting the party by preventing everyone from coalescing around one candidate?

I don't think he's hurting the party. I think he's helping to demonstrate to the RNP and McCain that there are some issues where voters feel McCain isn't conservative enough about, and it helps them in determining who his running mate should be so that they can pick someone who addresses those inadequacies (for lack of a better term)

I also think it's great to keep the dialogue going. It's important to show that they are many different kinds of Republicans, and to keep people asking questions rather than jumping on and bandwagon to say one person is perfect.

I agree. I don't think it's very democratic for someone to stop their campaign because the other guy has more (but not enough) delegates. Plenty of people like Huckabee and he has a very different POV on things that McCain. His voice and ideas deserve to be heard as long as he's picking up a significant number of votes. Huckabee seems like a reasonable guy. He's said that if John McCain reaches 1,191 delegates, he'll bow out gracefullly, and I have no doubt he will. Until then, it's a fair fight.
