Mask mandate clarification
Which is correct….
1 Everyone required to show vaccine card and no masks. No unvaccinated allowed in.
2 No vaccination required, everyone wear a mask, even if vaccinated.
3 Everyone who shows a vaccine card doesn’t need a mask and those that aren’t vaccinated wear a mask.
I thought a place could choose between either 1 or 2. But this morning news 12 interviewed a restaurant owner and she was doing scenario 3. I keep re reading it and I’m still thinking 1 or 2.

They can't mix and match.
If they choose to require vaccines they have to require it for everyone to enter, no exceptions. (Like nyc).
If they choose to let everyone in then everyone has to mask ...even if they are vaccinated
But yes I think there is a lot of confusion.

It’s 1 or 2. We are going to a concert this weekend and previously it was vaccine or test but now it’s vaccine only and no mask. If they allowed unvaccinated - everyone would need to mask.

I know from the places I went today, 4 out of the 5 had the same sign saying ALL have to wear masks. Nothing about if vaccinated you didn't have to. The 4th had no sign at all and employee with no mask on.

They can chose. If they don't want to require a vaccine to enter...which most do not...then yes the sign will say masks required for all
Whether or not they enforce the sign is another story..

Mask mandate clarification
Everyone needs to wear a mask now, regardless of vaccination status for anything indoors. Outdoors the venue can ask for vaccination records and not have the vaccinated wear masks.

Nell is correct. The establishment can decide to require vax to enter, in which case masking is irrelevant. In the alternative, they can require 100% masks. It is not “vax or mask” but I do agree there is a lot of confusion about this.

Nassau county will not enforce this either as of the 1st. Now to get Bellone to do so.
Hopefully many places won’t but I see one of the restaurants we go to is. Makes no sense as Covid only can get you while walking in and out and to the bathroom? SMH

No - it doesn't make sense.
Unfortunately, this effort isn't going to stop the spread as people who are vaccinated are getting it and people are getting it at private gatherings. The supermarket is not a super spreader... That's what scares me, that after this mandate - the numbers won't move much, so what's next?

You aren't alone- I haven't been out in two days LOL- but I'm hearing nobody is enforcing it or if they say anything people just say yeah yeah no thanks and keep it moving.
It's not really enforceable at this point.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I'm fully vaccinated and still wear my mask because I know that the vaccine isn't 100% like they lead us to believe at first. So, I AM attending events and eating out in NYC, etc, etc and still wearing a mask. Cases are on the rise and doesn't seem to matter if you are vaccinated...so I am smart enough to realize that and still wear my mask.

Yes but the thing is it's not mandated to wear your mask if the venue only allows vaccinated people in. So while some, like you, will wear it, others won't. And now you have a bunch of unmasked people in tight quarters indoors, unmasked and easily spreading it

Yup and I see it all the time packed places. The thinking is asinine. It just doesn't make sense and NO ONE sits back who makes these decisions and says, hmmm...this doesn't sound right?
And we wonder why Covid is spreading.
Seems to be a pandemic of the vaccinated.
Not because the vaccinated necessary get Covid more than unvaccinated, but because the vaccinated are given free reign to spread it unmasked, un-quarantined and unchecked.
As a reward for being good listeners.

Exactly, it all makes no sense. I tell you, the more educated you get, the more you lose your common sense. I see it ALL.THE.TIME from not only people higher up but friends and family. I sit there and say they are SO smart they are stupid.
I don't think that's necessarily true. I'm fully vaccinated and still wear my mask because I know that the vaccine isn't 100% like they lead us to believe at first. So, I AM attending events and eating out in NYC, etc, etc and still wearing a mask. Cases are on the rise and doesn't seem to matter if you are vaccinated...so I am smart enough to realize that and still wear my mask.
But you were sold on if you get the vaccine, you will be protected and won't have to wear a mask.
When was the last time you got tested? I would rather be tested than have to rely on a mask that doesn't work anyway.
Let's be clear. Masks do work to stop the spread. Are they 100%? No, nothing is. Do they slow down spread of disease. YES! That does not take much sense to figure that out.
What was the vaccine sold as in the beginning, like 95-98%, something like that, correct?
