While I can't be sure that ALL of the kids knew what they were doing (or their parents were doing) was illegal, how are you going to tell me that Lori Loughlins daughters did not know they weren't actually on the crew team? They posed for fake pics for goodness sake!! You'll be hard pressed to prove they were not 100% in support of the fraud. And at 18 or 19, you are well aware of right and wrong.

So yeah, I have no sympathy for them or any privileged kid who gets something by way of fraud. They DO deserve this.

Not sure why I am even bothering but if you read the affidavit and research the charges they didn’t photoshop their heads they have pictures of them on a rowing machine. I have never been on crew and I’ve used a rowing machine. As far as pretending to be on the team I am just saying if my parents said “hey, we have a connection at the school and they have some spots on the crew team so if you go out for crew, you increase your chance of getting into the school” I might believe it. I would doubt the parents told them they were paying $500k but my inclination is to see the good in people and not judge when I don’t know all the facts. I would say I am clearly in the minority here for the amount of people who rush to judgement on this site. Not just on this post but on everything. I also believe that many posters take everything they read at face value and don’t dig deeper to figure out the facts. Until it’s proven otherwise I would not say someone deserves to have this much punishment. They haven’t even been charged with a crime. The parents you can clearly see from what’s in the affidavit knew what they were doing.

And I think anyone that profits from fraudulent activity should be punished. Not sure why the term privileged even applies.

Obviously the term privileged applies. They have $500k that most American's don't have and used it to fraudulently get their kids into a school they they couldn't get into on their own. It's pathetic all the way around on their part. You have kids who put their blood sweat and tears into trying to get into state schools and can barely get financial aid.

Celebs will not get my sympathy on this no matter how you try to spin it Lulululu. My compassion and empathy is reserved for people who deserve it, not people who think they deserve it because they got caught doing something illegal because they are rich.

I was referring to her saying that she won't give sympathy to a privileged person that commits fraud. I am saying I don't think you should have sympathy to ANYONE who commits fraud, privileged or otherwise.

And once again, since it's clear that you didn't read everything I wrote, I never said anyone should get sympathy, I just don't know why anyone would rejoice in what's happening to the CHILDREN since we aren't sure exactly what their involvement was.

Obviously we don't have ALL the facts yet but for those who think this is the same as a rich person just giving a school a donation... its not. They have RACKETEERING charges!!! Here's the definition of racketeering..
Racketeering refers to crimes committed through extortion or coercion. A racketeer attempts to obtain money or property from another person, usually through intimidation or force.

Not to mention money laundering charges too... These are serious charges and they absolutely should have been arrested and do jail time

Actually the celebs in this case don't have money laundering or racketeering charges, they were only charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. The coaches were charged with racketeering...
