Ladies I need 1st bday VENDOR reccs - Nassau county or close queens or suffolk preferably...

Please recc your vendor or ones you know are fabulous for the following...TIA

1. Balloons - I need tons - would like a balloon arch and lots of balloons for the house - just looking for solid color balloons though.

2. Tents, tables, chairs.

3. Food/Catering - Ok, food is VERY important - I don't care how much it costs it needs to be fantastic and plentiful! I have a big Italian family and food is a top priority - in fact, I am being quite the rebel by having it catered rather than cooking myself

4. Clown (preferably one that does balloons).

5. Waitstaff/Bartenders - does this come with the food/catering?

6. Store to buy colored paper plates, napkins, cups etc - where they have a big color selection so I can find stuff that matches my theme colors...

6. Any other entertainment you can suggest I am open to it all and haven't decided yet:
-Do I need music?
-Not sure I can fit one of these bouncy things but how much do they run and where can I get one?
-Cotton candy or snow cone machine to rent?

Ok-that's all I can think of for now but, please let me know if I am leaving anything out!

For food we used guyanthonys in Merrick.

I too have a huge, very picky, Italian family. We've been using Guy Anthony's in my family for all catering functions (and in-restaurant too) for at least 10 years, maybe even 15. Guy & AJ are great (owners) - they have a ton of menu suggestions on their website, or if you have something else in mind, they will make it for you, even if it isn't on their website.

To date, they have catered my engagement party, my baby shower, my daugter's christening and first birthday... so I really trust them.

They have EXCELLENT wait staff/bartenders for hire and can direct you to the best place to get tents, tables, etc (they did a tent for my mom's xmas party off the back of her house w/ heat and it was great- it rained and the tent stayed dry). Their staff not only serves but CLEANS UP! I can't recommend them enough.

For clown- I hired twinkletown twice (for DD's christening & 1st bday) and I was very happy with them. THey are a vendor on LIF.

We had a bouncy thing that we got from twinkle town and that was actually more of a hit than the clown/character that we had. Next bday party I'll probably ONLY get a bouncy.

Had a cotton candy machine alsio through twinkletown- kids liked it, but I would say it wasn't a HUGE hit. Maybe next time I'll do edible sand art or something.

We got plates from sam's club and then cake/appetizer plates from party city- I think they have a lot of color choices.
We did a monkey theme and I had yellow/green plates, hot cups, napkins, etc.

Don't think you need music- maybe just make a playlist and run your iPod?

I got most of my stuff from Party City. Lots of colors to chose from and good prices. Plus they tend to have sales often and those are even better!
