kindergarten registration ADVICE please!

so my 4yr old is getting registered for Kindergarten on his brother's bday.

my hubby took the day off, it's our tradition until they start school and we cant do this anymore.
we spend the day together on their birthdays, museums, zoo, etc.
now the registration is set for
1-3pm smack in the middle of the day.

would you just run in another morning to sign the papers, or is it a "milestone event" to take them to their kindergarten registration?? not sure what to do

anna find out what is planned for the registration.. in my district it is just a matter of signing the papers and that can be done anytime..
there is a separate kindergarten orientation for the kids to go to and see what its all about..
also they can't possibly be doing it all in one day, my district is doing it all week..just because they WANT you to sign up on a particular day doesn't mean you cant do it another..i wouldn't ruin the birthday tradition just for that!

I just emailed a friend in the district.
Its broken down in three days, and by letter of your last name. At first I was excited because DH can take the day off for 2 eventsm but now it doesnt seem so exciting.
