Kids say the funniest things- NYC teachers you may esp. laugh...
I teach in the city, and the higher-ups are always encouraging us to do "think-alouds" in our lessons, which means that we say what we think in our heads as we read. It's supposed to help kids improve their reading and I've gotten used to it.
Anyway, I was in class today and I opened the book I was using for my lesson to get ready to read it to them. As I did this, one of my girls (6th grade) raised her hand and said, "Are you going to do that thing where you stop and tell us what you're thinking? Because that's really annoying."  I asked the rest of the kids if they found it annoying or helpful and they all said it annoyed them. 
Of course, it's useless to tell the higher-ups; it would be construed by them as me not doing it right as opposed to my students really knowing what helps them learn.

That's funny! The kids come out with some funny things some times with out even meaning to be so hysterical!
