keeps licking upper lip

DS licks his lip all the time and now it's red and chapped. I put on aquaphor and keep chapstick on it. Just when it starts to look a little better it gets red again bc he keeps licking it. I keep telling him to stop, but I know it's just a habit and doesn't realize he's doing it half the time.

Any advise or something else I can put on it?

yup, same boat but its the bottom lip and chin every single winter.

no advice because my son doesn't listen either and apparently enjoys the pain

Same. 3yo DS constantly has his tongue out when he plays and "concentrates" on something and it gets all red under his bottom lip and on his chin. All we can do is put chapstick and Aquaphor on it whenever we can, but we can't make him stop doing it! We've been calling him Miley.

going through it with dd too. I tell her to stop too but doesn't listen. i just try to put aquaphor on it especially overnight

My son looks like he has herpes. I grease him in the morning with Vaseline around his lips; thats been working so far. But if I forget one day, then its back to herpes. LOL

One of the other moms told me she puts neosporin and that has worked because her son wont lick it and gets rid of the chapping and redness quickly.
