I've been asked to be a Godmother!
Not only will I be a first time aunt but I'm also going to be the godmother to my brother & SIL's baby girl (who has yet to be born)! I'm so excited and honored. So I know as the aunt I get to spoil her rotten but what is my role as godmother? Do I get her christening outfit, specific jewelry, etc...?

I am godmother to my sister and BIL's baby that is due in November. When is your SIL due?
I asked my grandmother what I am "supossed" to do because I have no clue and she said to buy the outfit for the christening and together with the godfather to buy a cross.

Congratulations and Yes it is an honor. My godson is in my avatar and I am so in love.
He was also born on my anniversary which makes it even more special.
Anyway, Yes, I do spoil him rotten, and yes, I did buy him his Christening outfit, plus a "Party Outfit".
The godfather bought his jewlery for the christening.
Congrats again.

I bought my godson's outfit and the godfather got the cross. When my DH was godfather, he got the cross.

Congratulations! I'm Godmother to my friends little girl. I didn't have to buy her gown because they used a family one.

Congratulations!!
Mike Sister and BIL asked me to be their sons godmother. I bought him his Christening outfit.
My brother asked me to be his sons godmother also. I bought his outfit.
Both cases the godfathers bought them crosses

in each faily its different in my family the godfather buys the cross and the godmother gets the outfit . it might be a good idea to ask

congrats on both being an aunt and godmother. Every family is different we do in my family is the mother goes shopping with the godmother and we both pick out he outfit together and th godmother pays for it the god father usually gets the chain with the cross. Also I know that I also bought another comfy outfit for my godson to change into after the church and pictures were all done. My brothers girlsfriend had bought an outfit like this for my daughter for her christening as well cuz she didn't know what to get
