It's a boy! Lorenzo Lamas' wife Shawna Craig, 29, gives birth to his daughter Shayne's baby after serving as surrogate

What a beautiful selfless thing to do.


Their new baby boy Lyon Lamas-Richie has finally arrived.
Former Bachelor contestant Shayne Lamas, 29, and husband Nik Richie welcomed a son on July 4 that came via surrogate, CloserWeekly reported on Wednesday.
The surrogate is a close member of the family: Shayne's stepmother Shawna Craig, 29 - who is wed to her father Lorenzo Lamas, 57, of Falcon Crest fame - had the child for her.
Shayne was unable to have children after a near-fatal ectopic pregnancy in 2014. She is the exact same age as her stepmother, who she has described as an 'angel.'
Lyon was born at 6lbs, 4oz in Los Angeles. On July 10 Shayne shared a photo with her little boy, as well as her daughter Press, aged three.
'The new bundle of hoy arrived via water birth,' a source close to Shayne said. 'Everyone is healthy and happy.'
Shayne never thought she would be able to welcome another baby after undergoing a life-altering surgery. But when her stepmother offered to be a surrogate, the former Bachelor contestant's prayers were answered.
In February 2014, Shayne lost her baby after experiencing a rare uterine rupture which required a hysterectomy to save her life.

'When I found out I could never have kids again, I screamed at the top of my lungs,' said the season 12 Bachelor winner. 'My world shattered, my world was over. It was the worst moment of my life.'
Fortunately for Shayne and her husband Ritchie their options to conceive were not completely closed.
Shawna - who is the fifth wife of Shayne's father Lorenzo - generously offered to carry the couple's child as a special surrogate.
'Shawna's not just my stepmother, she's like a soul sister,' shared Shayne. 'She's an angel that blessed my whole family, including my father.'
The pregnant proxy has no children of her own and married Lorenzo (who was on Celebrity Apprentice) in 2011 on the promise that they would never choose to have future children together.
'I'm ecstatic to be pregnant. It's the best thing in the world,' said Shawna about her first-time experience.
Shawna 'works for a fertility agency that connects couples who can't get pregnant with egg donors and surrogates and realized she could help Shayne and Nik.
'Shayne was really broken [after losing her child], but she didn't understand her options. That's my world - I understood her options,' she explained.
'My wife is going to give birth to a child that we're not going to bring home,' he said in February.

'But it's my grandchild, so we are going to have a great relationship with him and see him a lot,' admitted Lorenzo, who has six children of his own.
'Our whole family is onboard. I am looking forward to being a grandparent again - we are going to have fun with this little guy,' added the Renegade actor.
'It is weird,' admitted Shayne at the time about the unusual pregnancy plan.
'Somebody else carrying your baby is weird. But I lost my son, and now Shawna is carrying my son. I have just been given the biggest blessing in the whole world and I will always be grateful.'
Her husband Nik added: 'This new child is a blessing. Someone to strengthen the family.'

I loved Shayne on the Bachelor. So happy for her after her awful ordeal.

I wonder if they'll say if the baby is biologically the stepmom's...since Shayne had an emergency hysterectomy while pregnant, it can't be her bio kid and NOT that it matters. Just curious if it's a donor egg or the stepmom's bc she's never had a child and I imagine it would be very difficult to place your first/only child...even if you get to see him.
