Is this anyone's first mother day without their mom?
This is my first mother's day without my mom. I feel so sad.
I'm going to go the cemetery with my DH and children and bring my mom flowers. I'd like to write her card- but what would I do with it?
Could I leave it at her grave? It would disintegrate and make a mess in the rain...

This is going to be my first fathers day without my Dad. I was thinking of writing something on a balloon and letting it go at the cemetery.

It is not my first mother's day without my Mom, but I just wanted to say...do whatever makes you feel content and at peace.
You can put the card in a plastic bag and tape it to the headstone, perhaps. Just a thought.....

Is this anyone's first mother day without their mom?
I answered on that other thread, but I left a card right on her grave. I don't care if it gets ruined or wet, it just made me glad to write something to her.

Yesterday was my first mother's day without my mom. I was a mess the whole week leading up to it. At first, I didn't realize what was wrong with me. Why all of a sudden was her death hitting me SO HARD this one week? I would just start crying while driving and have to pull over. Then I realized Mother's Day was coming up and it was just so, so hard to know that I was without my mother this year.
I woke up yesterday sobbing. And I let myself. DH had gotten up early with my DD and was downstairs feeding her breakfast, so I put my head in the pillow and let myself really go. Because I knew it was going to be the only time in the day I would have to feel it.
Then I got up and faced the day. I was fine for the rest of it, letting myself enjoy the beautiful day, and knowing she was with me. But it was hard. I won't lie. I was being celebrated and wished Happy Mother's Day and it wasn't something I wanted to be wished, you know? I just wanted to celebrate MY mother.
We are planting a garden in my yard for her, so I got a stepping stone kit from Michaels and we made a memory stone for her yesterday. I put my DD's footprints in it and used letter stamps to write a message. It made me feel good to do SOMETHING for her.
Hugs and prayers to everyone else who made it through the day. It's not easy.
