Is it true that once you have fruit flies you will ALWAYS have them?

Is it true that once you have fruit flies you will ALWAYS have them?
These suckers don't die! We have removed all fruit, veggies and other food from our kitchen counters several days ago, and set the apple cider vinegar traps in various places. They traps did catch a ton of them but just when we think we have seen the last of them, there they are! It's like they are in hiding waiting for us to eat a banana or pour a glass of wine and then they attack. HELP!!

Is it true that once you have fruit flies you will ALWAYS have them?
check any plants. the soil. basil, any type of fresh spice. I hate them but always find them in our dirt, has nothing to do with food mostly

Probably drain flies. Put tape over your drain at night and see if any are stuck to it in the morning. They live in the pipes.

We had this issue one year. I really had to clean and bleach all around the sinks and drains and really get into all the cracks and crevices. We haven't had any this year at all...
