Re: Is DC furniture bolted into the wall?
Yes, their dressers are. They came with the parts we needed to do it, but I've seen furniture straps in the safety area of BRU.
We also have our tv, stereo and computer behind a gate in our den so that we know we can leave them down there safely for a few mins to run to the bathroom or for me to cook. I check on them every few mins while I'm cooking.
We did it b/c we know a few people whose kids pulled their dressers on top of themselves trying to climb on top, or have pulled tvs on top themselves. Just wasn't worth the risk to me.
ETA: We also got rid of our glass coffee table after DH's boss's 2 year old climbed on top of theirs and it shattered. He had to get stitches, it was just awful.

We use the earthquake straps for our tall dressers.

Re: Is DC furniture bolted into the wall?
I just recently bought furniture straps at babies are us. His dresser and bookshelf are bolted to the wall. The furniture came with some and we used that for the dresser but needed something different for the bookshelf and got a strap at BRU. I had never done it in the nursery but finally got around to it now that he is in a big boy room and can get in and out freely from his bed if he wants to.

Yes her dressers and bookshelf are bolted with furniture straps. I think the dressers came with them and we got the straps for the bookshelf I think at BRU.

No, we live in an apartment and it's only temporary. I guess we'll bolt them in when we get into a house. I hadn't even thought about it. I know DD's dresser came with stuff to do that.

Only certain things are in our house. like their bookcases. The kids don't play in their rooms, only sleeping.

Re: Is DC furniture bolted into the wall?
Well, Andrew like to open and close the drawers and it make me nervous that it can topple over. And since I am soon switching him out of his crib, I think it will be necessary. He is a little dare devil

Re: Is DC furniture bolted into the wall?
just the bookshelf in his room. and that's only b/c it came with the strap. even if he managed to knock things over in his room, it's so small that nothing would hit him/the floor. there isn't anything actually heavy/hard on anything either...that stuff is in the closet.

Re: Is DC furniture bolted into the wall?
All relatively large pieces of furniture, especially anything taller than DC. Drawers make for great steps, and makes dressers very unbalanced. Dressers, bookshelves, entertainment center, bureaus, etc. Make sure you attach them to a stud in the wall, not just the drywall, or a drywall anchor.
