thinking of driving down there with kids ages 6.5 and 4.5. Are they too old for it?

I think they would love it! We took our DD when she was almost 2 and she was a little young at the time but I think your kids are the perfect age. There was plenty to do, we were there most of the day. Chat Icon

Great age for that place. There are different "stations" and a variety of art projects the kids can create. It's basically a great "indoor" art place. Of course your kids have to be into art lol

The town is really quaint as well.

We take 2 hour drives for fun all the time, so I wouldn't think twice about it.

Upstairs from the factory is some type of waterway museum and my DS actually liked that better than Crayola. There's all types of hands-on activities (some involving water) and he had the best time up there. Definitely stop up there and take a look.

same for us, my ds 2.5 at the time really wasn't interested in any of the projects at Crayola, but loved the museum

At that age they'll definitly enjoy doing all the projects and you'll be there a while. There are a few other local things to do around there too where you'll have a good time!

Absolutely! DS was 2 last summer when we went. He liked it a lot but there is a ton for older kids too! The museum was great too! We definitely want to go back!
