Can you even imagine the suffering and for NINE MINUTES????? It's so awful.

I don't even know why we have to bother with a trial, it's crystal clear that Chauvin murdered that man in broad daylight. The whole thing disgusts me.

Is anyone watching the Derek Chauvin's murder trial?

This is one instance where I do not believe he has any right to a fair trial. Sorry. People bring up OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony. Both monsters who were most definitely guilty, but nobody had the murders on video. There was no 100% concrete, beyond the shadow of a doubt evidence. Hence the trials. But this? Throw the scumbag away for life and let him suffer.

Re: Is anyone watching the Derek Chauvin's murder trial?

disgusting.

i can't believe that there are people who blame george floyd because he "wasn't a saint." wtf??!!!

so... because i dated more than my share of boys in my early 20s, i should be blamed for being raped at 40??

blaming the victim... who is DEAD. yeah, that's fair.

9 minutes is an eternity. i try really hard to not feel the same level of hatred for others, but this is one of those exceptions. i hope they find him guilty and someone in prison teaches him a lesson.

Is anyone watching the Derek Chauvin's murder trial?

It's disgusting and I don't understand how they can even defend him. If anything was a cut and dry case, this is it. He should have saved everyone all the time and pain of watching this again by just pleading guilty.

I have not watched the video but I was reading this really isn’t a “cut and dry case” and the prosecution will have an uphill battle. Partly because Chauvin was using an approved choke hold and there wasn’t damage found to George Floyd’s airway-which would cause reasonable doubt as to why he died. I’m not saying I agree with the argument just putting it out there.

That man begged for his life while the life was drained out of him. Chauvin was vicious and savage. His racism and lack of humanity are appalling.

It is as "cut and dry" as you can get. OVER nine minutes of an officer kneeling on a man's neck who was BEGGING for his life and begging for AIR and who was NO threat while 3 other officers looked on doing NOTHING. That POS will hopefully rot in jail for the MURDER he committed.

Thst brings up a good point. Are there any charges against the others who stood there and watched this and did nothing? I assume they lost their jobs (i hope), but anything else?
I feel like I haven't heard anything about that...but I haven't been following closely

Im just repeating what I heard from several legal analysts- people with actual legal degrees. I don’t believe everything is black and white but I certainly hope justice prevails.

Yes, the other three were charged and will stand trial later this year for aiding and abetting a murder/manslaughter.

Yeah, it really is. The majority of reputable legal analysts say as much.

I disagree that he is not entitled to a fair trial. That is a huge part of the basis for our entire judicial system. Everyone, no matter what they are accused of, is entitled to that.

Also, he is charged with multiple counts of murder so I don't think the question is so much "Is he guilty of murder?" but "what kind of murder did he commit?" since each come with very different outcomes at sentencing. I am sure he will get found guilty of murder or manslaughter.

That being said, Floyd's death was caused by a combination of Chauvin on his neck and the fentanyl and methamphetamine that Floyd had in his system (as per the medical examiner's report) so it might not be as cut and dry as you think.

I don't care what drugs (illegal or not) are in a person's body because the fact is, if someone places a knee on your neck and presses down for 9 minutes you will be gasping for air and die. Period. He could've been hopped up on anything and everything but drugs didn't cause his death. A knee to the neck did.

The cause of death as per the medical examiner was a combination of the two. It’s in the report. So clearly a trained medical doctor believed it was the combination of the two.

And yet the independent autopsy that was ordered by the family does not indicate the same.

At the end of the day, it's ALL ON VIDEO. How anyone can even attempt to defend that garbage cop is beyond me.

Independent Autopsy Ordered By Family

"The independent autopsy was conducted by Dr. Allecia M. Wilson of the University of Michigan and Dr. Michael Baden, a former New York City medical examiner, who also conducted an independent autopsy on Jeffrey Epstein and testified at the O.J. Simpson trial. Their autopsy also found that Floyd died not just because Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd’s neck, but because the other officers helped hold Floyd down. For instance, another officer’s knee, pressed against Floyd’s back, reportedly compressed his lungs and made it harder for him to breathe."

George Floyd Cause of Death

"The autopsy found that sustained pressure on the right side of Floyd’s carotid artery impeded blood flow to the brain, and the weight on his back, handcuffs and positioning were contributing factors that impaired the ability of his diaphragm to function."

Nobody is saying that he didn't - it's just a question of what type of murder will he be charged with due to the facts surrounding the case.

My god. Go back and read what I wrote again. I never said he was innocent. Never defended him. Just said it will be a matter of what degree of murder he can be convicted of when there may have been other mitigating circumstances that can not be seen by simply watching the video.
