I'll look into it, but probably wont find it flexible enough. Looks like a larger iphone, not a laptop with a tablet display. They made no mention of a real desk/laptop OS running on it, and they mentioned only flash storage I think.
I'm not one of those iSheep who will buy anything made by Apple.

so do we, minus the iphone but DH has the itouch and i have an ipod. he wanted to get a kindle but decided to wait and get this instead.

i am going to wait until its out (around oct/nov) i will buy it i think then downgrade my cell phone to a normal cell (not a smartphone) since pretty much everywhere i go i get wifi anyway.
i would rather have a full reading screen then tapping to zoom, AT&T can eat me as far as their cell phone service so i returned my iphone after two weeks so if the wifi reviews are good with this i am sold.

Haven't tablets been around for years, and never do well because they are too big to be portable, like an iTouch/iPhone, and too small to be powerfull, like a netbook or laptop. $500 for the worst of both worlds.... hmmm... yeah, I'll take two...

True, but this opens an entirely new market.

Love it!
But for a few bucks more you can get an iPad.
A no brainer - at least for someone like me and how I use computers.
