International travel at 24-26 weeks?

Is 24-26 weeks too late to comfortably take a European babymoon? My ob said any time in second tri should be fine but I'm a little worried that it might be hard to go towards the end? (dates we are looking at now are leaving around 24w and returning 25.5w). We have a scattering of events (showers etc) that make it hard to go in April and March is so soon! Tell me honestly -- is this too late or should we be ok? How did you feel at this time?

i think you should be ok, but it depends on how you feel now. we just went to europe last week and i was 19 weeks and felt great the whole time, including on the plane. if your dr says its ok, then i wouldnt worry about it too much... but just make sure you feel comfortable!

I am 14w1d now and feel great and walk a lot on a daily basis (we live in the city) but I get tired earlier. I'm hoping some of the exhaustion passes as I get further into second tri. We could possibly go around 19w but we would have to plan the trip very quickly

I would probably have gone without hesitation at 24 weeks. . I still felt great then. But this does depend on where you are going. . I don't think I'd take the chance somewhere I had to worry about water or parasites and things but anywhere first world (or contained environment in 3rd world) I would probably not hesitate.

I think it's fine as long as you feel well.

Just remember to drink LOTS of water while you're there, rest when your body tells you too and eat well. Of course stick to foods you know are safe.

Have fun!

At 28.5w I am still feeling great and would be able to take a vacation now - but it depends on your individual pregnancy and how YOU are feeling!

I'd THINK you should be OK, but you'd know better than we would! Chat Icon

we are thinking about England, Ireland or Scotland. Somewhere English-speaking so I can know for sure what I am eating and ordering, and the water should be OK to drink. Flight would be 6-7 hours direct.
