What the hell is a "cohort"?

A group of people. In Covid times, it means a small group of the same people that stay together at an event/activity/etc. It's to allow groups larger than a household, but still keep transmissions minimized and more trackable.

Thanks. Never heard of it, probably because my daughter is in school with a full class of 18 all day every day. (I guess that's her COHORT!!LOL!) I

I wish they would just call it a group.
I hate all these new buzz words.

Are your classrooms huge? We only have 10-12 in because of the distancing regulations. Some grades are full time but, half of the class is in the classroom and the other half is either in the library, art room, gym or makerspace.

Average size. I have no idea how they are doing it and I honestly don't care.
She said they are spaced apart. How far, I have no idea
But they are forced to wear masks all day long so that should be enough.

Our kids are too, in average sized classrooms.

It's annoying how differently school districts interpreted the guidelines. There are 16 in person kids in DS2's 3rd grade class and 10 in at a time (he's in a co-teach and some kids get to go all 4 days - I am very familiar with 2 even groups and drawing an array to illustrate right now lol). They are fully masked all day. We have no plexiglass as they deemed it a fire hazard.

Yeah I find it crazy how many elementary schools are hybrid and mine is not.
I really expected my district to be a hot mess of a dumpster fire judging by how they handled the spring, but they really surprised me.

In-person or virtual students?

Our choices were hybrid or full remote. DH has had surgery twice for cancer. We are fully remote.

We are in the city in catholic school. My second grader is full time in person. My 3rd, 8th and high schooler are all hybrid.

Mine has 10 in her class, 8th grade. She stays in there all day except for Spanish. She said Spanish has 30 kids. Which I'm not happy about since if one of the kids in the class is diagnosed, my kid has to be home for 2 weeks. I felt better with the 10 kids (not worried about sickness for my kid, but 30 kids increases the odds of quarantine). We will see how the year plays out, but if it turns into being home for 2 weeks more than once, I will switch her to remote all the time.

All schools in my district are in person full time. Parents were given the option of full time remote, which about 5% of each grade opted for.

MS and HS, both hybrid, every other day. They are begging for more in school days. I'm disappointed that my district does not even have a plan for full time in school for MS/HS for this school year.
