In desperate need to heal my dry lips
This time of year is always torture on my lips. They are not "chapped" like peeling, but they are soooooo dry and they burn. I've tried Blistex, Burts Bees, and carmex. Nothing is working. Can you make a suggestion?

Re: In desperate need to heal my dry lips
How about just plain vaseline? My dermatologist just recommended this for my dry skin and I'm sure it would work for lips.
Otherwise, I love Sugar lip treatment. I get it at Sephora:

I like SoftLips. You can get it at Duane Reade. It gives you this wonderful menthol-y tingle and keeps them so soft.

Re: In desperate need to heal my dry lips
I have the same problem. first make sure you are drinking enough water.
I have been doing oil cleansing, and its magical for me. I even massage my lips with the oil and it really helps heal them.
Actually on my lips I just rub in olive oil, then take a hot wash cloth and hold it over for about a minute, gently wipe and they feel so much better. You can try other oils, but I find olive oil is so moisturizing, and the heat helps it sink in.
The medicated blistex helps sometimes too, but I feel like I need to slop on a lot of it for it to work.

Re: In desperate need to heal my dry lips
This might sound strange, but I started using the Lansinoh cracked nipple cream for BFing moms recently as lip gloss and it really helped my chapped lips!
I had extra laying around after I stopped BFing DS #2, so I tried it on my lips and it worked great.
I also use Carmex and Soft Lips.
Hope you feel better!

This is true, my best friend always uses nipple cream for lip gloss/protectant.
I also use a Neosporin night treatment that I LOVVVVVVVVVE. My lips are so soft from it!

Re: In desperate need to heal my dry lips
drink water b/c its usually a sign of dehydration.
also try to exfolioate. take an old toothbrush dip in vaseline, then in sugar and rub on your lips.
aquaphor lip treatment is awesome, and the neosporin lip one is really good too. it helped my chapped peeling lips immensely!

Re: In desperate need to heal my dry lips
I read somewhere that using a used warm green tea bag on your lips works wonders. For everyday, I use Aveda lipsaver. It's $8 a tube but it's a life saver!

Re: In desperate need to heal my dry lips
I use just plain Vaseline when my lips get really dry, first I take it , apply on my lips, leave it on for about 10 min , then take a toooth brush and brush my lips, wipe it off with a paper towel, apply more Vaseline and leave it on overnight, I wake up and my lips are fine. My old dermatologist gave me this tip and has worked every time, my lips get really dry in winter, plus I never drink enough water

Re: In desperate need to heal my dry lips
I've tried almost every one of the suggestions above (except the nipple cream and green tea bags!). the only thing that ever gave me some relief was palmers cocoa butter swivel stick
