I'm back...

Hello all,

I am looking for people with similar situations to give me some hope/advice.

I had a missed miscarriage in 2010, had a D&C and we found out the baby had trisomy 16.

I got pregnant with DS after one cycle. Totally normal, healthy pregnancy.

I got pregnant with DD when DS was 22 months, again, totally normal and healthy pregnancy except for a postpartum hemhorrage after delivery.

We started trying for a fourth pregnancy (third baby) and again got pregnant on the first try. We saw the heartbeat at 6.5 weeks (it was strong - 140) and then I found out I miscarried at 7.5 weeks and had a D&C last week. There wasn't enough tissue to test to find out whether or not it was chromosomal. The pregnancy started out rocky, as I had a SCH and sub-clinical hypothyroid.

I'm just not sure where to go from here. Before I miscarried, my dr told me not to worry bc "lightening doesn't strike twice" - meaning I wouldn't have another miscarriage due to chromosomal defect. And now he's telling me to assume it was a chromosomal MC.

Did anyone miscarry after two healthy pregnancies? Is it worth seeing an RE since I have now miscarried twice?

I've also read articles about "super fertility" - women who get pregnant really easily but have more miscarriages because the uterus doesn't discriminate between healthy and unhealthy embryos.

So sorry for your loss. Since you don't have trouble getting pregnant an RE won't be able to do much for you. I highly suggest you seeing a perinatologist. I'm seeing Dr. Kofinas and I think he is wonderful so far!

I am in a similar situation. I had one normal pregnancy (DS1), two chemical pregnancies, another normal pregnancy (DS2), and this year, two 8 week MCs in a row. My first was tested and found to be Turners Syndrome. The second just happened naturally, so no testing. My doctor is saying it's probably just random chromosomal errors, so no reason to see an RE or stop TTC. It's so discouraging and confusing though. I'm not sure how how to move forward either!

I have had 5 pregnancies. 1 healthy pregnancy (first cycle), then 3 mc (pregnant 1st or 2nd cycle trying) and then another healthy prefnancy. Happy to chat more if you message me. Sorry for your losses :( it's so hard going through it again :(

I am sorry for your loss. I had two healthy pregnancies then three miscarriages. They never tested the first pregnancy then the second and third were tested and it was a chromosome issue both times. At that stage I was over 40 so we decided to give up. I regret our decision every day but at the time I was beaten into the ground and couldn't put myself or our family through another possible miscarriage.

I am not sure where you should go from here. I don't think an RE will help but maybe speak to your OB and see what he/she suggests.
