GIRL!! I was right!
Gianna Marie, 6 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long, was born last Thursday via c-section. She is so unbelievably beautiful and we are over the moon in love with her.
I’ll write a detailed birth story at some point, but long story short… I had my 37 week appointment with my OB in the morning. Jokingly, I taped a note to my belly that said “Please help my mommy feel comfortable again – take me out this week. Thanks, the little one inside”. My OB got a kick out of it until he did my first internal. I was 4 cms dilated.
Because I had to have a c-section with general anesthesia for my back issues, he had me go home to pack and go to the hospital a few hours later. Once I got there they hooked me up and my contractions were 1-2 minutes apart. I didn’t even know I was in labor – felt pains but didn’t know they were contractions. I labored for about 8 hours from that point on until my c-section later that night.
Gianna had jaundice and had to go under the light for a day, but was able to come home with me as scheduled.
Good Sam was great. Loved every nurse and nurses aid I had.
