If you went from FTWM to SAHM

Did you save your work clothes?

The tops are all business casual and I can wear them with jeans but I can't see any reason to keep my work pants, I won't have any place to wear them. I might keep a pair or two of dress pants and my suits (because I like to wear the suit jackets), but I want to give the rest away.

What did you do?

I did and I saved my work clothes.. just because you aren't going to work, doesn't mean you're not going to have a need for them..

I would keep them.

Wakes, Funerals came up in my mind first.

Christenings, other religious ceremonies/ parties you might not want to go ALL out for but still need dress pants for.

I was the type that had "work" clothes...and then dressy type stuff...I always hated wearing something for play on the weekends that I had worn to work..always somehow reminded me of work...lol.

That being said, I kept only things that I realllyyy wanted to keep..maybe a couple of more expensive pants, etc. Everything else was donated. By the time I go back, I will want new stuff anyway Chat Icon

I kept 2 pairs of pants, 2 skirts, and 2 dresses. These are for church, baby showersm wedding showers or whatever. I didn't go overboard since my ever growing collection of yoga pants and tees take priority nowChat Icon

IDK what I'm going to do but have been thinking about this also. I have so much stuff for work. I'll probably keep most of it just so it can take up space in my closet and I'll never wear it Chat Icon

See that's the thing, I have no idea how much closet space I will have (I have a small walk in now) so I was hoping to purge a lot Chat Icon Maybe I'll just put it all in storage

I'm changing climates too so I don't have any idea what I'm going to really need. Like will I ever wear cashmere sweaters again? LOL. I will likely just pack most of it up in big plastic bins and store it. With my maternity clothes that I'm holding onto for some reason Chat Icon

Oh don't worry I can take those off your hands for you, I'm guessing I will need to double up on sweaters Chat Icon

Same
I kept very little just some pants and skirts. I got rid of everything else. I've already been home 2 years and will want all new stuff if I go back

Re: If you went from FTWM to SAHM

I just donated about 25 suits to charity this past winter. I donated them more because I didn't think I'd fit back into them anytime soon. They were mostly bought in my 20's. Many of them were custom tailored suits. Unfortunately my body has changed. Chat Icon

I figured I'd have to get new clothes that fit more comfortabely if I go back to work.

I kept 3 suits and about 10 business casual outfits. I have enough to interview and work part time.

Re: If you went from FTWM to SAHM

I was business casual and with the exception of summer - I now wear those clothes during the other seasons.
