I was just emailed by the principal who desperately needs me to put together a PD plan for the enitre school by Monday!!!!
This job is insane......Any ideas? I have really never done this before. I would need 14 weeks of PD school wide in all departments. Is there anything on the web that can help? Oh My, I am in deep water her! TIA

are you in the city???? i would do something like incorporating TC in all subject areas or something themematic

OH! Okay..
We hav e a'pd' day this friday. but we FINALLY actually have the entire day to work. instead of going to some bs pd meeting on agriculture in the classroom.

We've had school safety, how to respond to another terrorist attack, we've had a fireman come and talk to us, we've had a union rep talk to us about discipline code and what constitues corporal punishment, etc. Really exciting stuff.

I would do something about one of the following:
1. Differentiation
2. Teacher's College
3. Interdisciplenary
4. Unit planning using backwards design.

How about Literacy Across the Disciplines? You can focus on learning content through the use of different pre, during and post strategies and you can also focus on the need for differentiation in each lesson as well. It would go across the grade levels and be usefull for all teachers to remember that the burden of print is often the reason students have such a tough time learning subject area material.

I am not sure if this is what you are talking about, but my school just implemented a character education program that will last till the end of the year.

I was going to suggest something similar- like writing across the curriculum. Or incorporating read-alouds into all subjects.
I can't believe your principal did that to you.
