I think I may have created a bad habit (sleep related)
since he was born, KJ falls asleep in his swing and then I transfer him to his crib...he sometimes will wake up a bit but then always goes back to sleep
he is STTN from 8-8:30-6am
I tried to put him in his crib the other night without the swing and he flipped
I think I may have to keep doing what I am doing and then in a few months, let him CIO
any other suggestions?
TIA

Well then we did too!!! He would ONLY fall asleep there for a while, so we did what we had to do!!! It didn't last though, honestly maybe 4 weeks or so? I reeeeally don't think it's "bad," like I said it worked for us and we transitioned straight to the crib fairly easily a bit later?

Re: I think I may have created a bad habit (sleep related)
how old is he? he's only a couple months, right?
If it were me, I would keep doing it until he was a little older. I rocked DD until she was about 6 months old. Then I started to put her down awake, and just stayed by the crib, rubbing her belly and stuff. eventually i was able to just walk away

he is 4 months....
I rocked miki for a year and then she resisted my rocking so we did CIO (she never really cried though as she was older)
KJ will not let me rock him, he HATES to be facing me while I hold him so rocking is out....
I feed him his last bottle, lay him in the swing and he is sleeping within 10 minutes or so...once he is asleep for about 20 minutes, I will do the transfer....

Re: I think I may have created a bad habit (sleep related)
Do what works for you and your LO.
Everyone told me to stop allowing DD to fall asleep on the couch in her boppy pillow. I listened and tried to get her to fall alseep in her crib it was a miserable week and a half. She went from STTN to waking up every hour or so. So we went back to the boppy pillow and she started STTN again. Now some nights she will start to dose and we will carry her up and put her Ocean Wonders light and sound on in the crib and she will fall asleep other nights she falls asleep in the pillow but she is STTN again.
Every baby is different and every family is different do what works best for you guys!

As long as it works for you, then whats the problem? He is STTN from 8-6? I would not mess with what works!
If it ain't broke...

I am just thinking...what happens when he is too big for the swing? He also naps in it. I think what i may do is in a few weeks start letting him nap in the crib and see how he does. Thanks all
