Packing to move....



We are moving from a studio apt. where I have lived for the past 8.5 years and DH has lived with me for the past 1.5 years, since we have been married. You wouldn't believe the amount of boxes and bags I have packed so far! Thank G-d that I am off this summer and can get alot of it done. Unfortunately if I pack as much as I would like there will be no room to walk around the apt. We are closing on Sept. 13 and it can't come soon enough!

Try to purge as much as you can. Can you pack some of it and ask someone to store it in their garage or basement for a short time so your place doesn't look too much like a wharehouse.

We aren't even in contract yet but I brought all of my Christmas stuff, crystal, china and DH's music equipment over to my IL's. I have the summer off too and wanted to pack more now than later when I go back to school.

Don't forget to # your boxes and keep a running list on a pad of what is in each #ed box. When they come off the truck check the box off on the list. That way you know you'll have everything.

Definitely purge if you have the time. I couldn't do much when we moved into our house bc I was pg and DH was working and in school. Now our basement is full of boxes of stuff I need to go through.

Thanks ladies. I have brought a bunch of boxes over to my IL's but I don't want to take up too much room in their house either. I already have a lot of stuff there as well. I think I have packed most of the packable stuff as of now. I really "SEEM" to only have clothes in closets and drawers left over. Also Tupperware stuff and canned goods. So I think I am doing ok.
