I just bought all of Alex's chanukah presents! (bump for question at bottom of post)
Who knows why considering with the way she's been acting today she doesn't deserve any gifts for 5 years!  
So, to ease her spirits a little I took her to toys r us and bought all 7 gifts, all for less than $100 
(1) Fisher price little mommy potty training baby doll
(2) Dora the explorer shopping cart
(3) Play microwave
(4) 101 Play food pieces
(5)& (6) Baby doll diaper bag with changing pad, diapers, diaper creme and powder
(7) Disney 27 piece Tea set
I was dead set on not buying big clunky noisy toys because she just doesn't use them at all - she prefers things that she can use for imaginary play - as you can tell, she's OBSESSED with changing her baby doll's diaper, having tea with mommy and daddy every morning when we have our tea, and with food shopping  Image Attachment(s):

WoW! you are a super good mommy! I haven't gotten Noah anything yet!! I might want until Grandma and Grandpa New York arrive (although after the holiday...)

Yeah, well, a fire lit under my arse when I realized that Chanukah starts Dec. 4! That's only two weeks away!!!

Bump for question - there's still one gift I want to get for Alex - one of those flip-out sofa beds. I saw them online, and they are relatively cheap ($30-$40) but the shipping was $30! I looked in Toys R Us but couldn't find any - any suggestions as to what stores carry them? Image Attachment(s):

I saw them this weekend at Walmart & K-Mart. You can also try babies R us & KB toys. My DD has an Elmo couch and she loves it. Good Luck

I have no clue about the fip out couch, but Jordana would LOVE that. SHe is obsessed with Dora and Elmo.

Great job, she is going to LOVE them! I am sort of on the same wavelength as far as toys with no lights/noises, and a lot of the toys on your list my DD either just got for her birthday or are on my list to get for her. Oh and that tea party set is a great idea, I didn't think of that, she would love it!
btw I bought my DD's flip-out sofa bed from Babies-R-Us, so maybe try there? I have definitely seen them other places, I would guess Target or Walmart?

I got her:
Some my little ponies
Candy land
chutes and ladders
dora memory game
a pretend dustbuster (she looooves mine)
A crayola easel that sticks to tile so she can draw in the shower
magnetic building block toy thingy
a big play doh set with a bunch of tools (she likes to cut the dough)
pick up monkies
and a few other things...when I remember I will post

I see a theme... food and babies...lol... sounds like my house. Alex is a lucky girl.
We celebrated with DH's family on Saturday while all of his sisters were in town for Thanksgiving.
DC's got books, clothes, CD's and some $$ from Grandma and Papa.
I wrapped up two little presents for them to open the first night. DH might be traveling that night so looks like I'm in charge.
After all of those years in Catholic school, guess who will be lighting the menorrah this year? Sister Joan would be so proud

That is wierd....you didnt see those flip open couches at TRU? Thats where we got Alyssa's a few mths back..and my Dad just bought her one last week there also for his house.

oh and a new cartridge for her learn through music machine.
and one of those things that you hold up to your eyes (like binoculars) but you put a cartridge in and you can see things - then you push the lever on the side and it changes pictures - what is that thing called?
And a jack in the box - she is obsessed with them.
