I have something to share with you...
It is with a lot of happiness (and some fear) that I have decided it is time for me to make my announcement. I want to share with my friends from the infertility board first, that today I am 12weeks 3 days pregnant with twins. I know that this is very hard for many of you to hear… I know how it is to be happy for someone but at the same time be sad for you.
I am truly blessed to be where I am right now, and each and every one of you has helped me to get to this place. There were so many times I was feeling down and wanted to give up, but the strength of the ladies on this board kept me going. Through the times when clomid didn’t work, to when I had my miscarriage, through the announcements of my friends’ pregnancies, to the giant cyst I had, without all of you, I don’t know if I could have made it through. So for all of this, I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
I hope that I can give some of you hope. I found out after trying for almost a year to have a baby that I was not ovulating on my own. The diagnosis of PCOS and the news I had to see an RE was devastating to me. Every cycle that failed broke my heart a little more. After going through everything, I finally got pregnant to then suffer a miscarriage. I thought then that someone was trying to tell me something. I asked my RE about taking baby aspirin my next cycle. My RE told me they don’t like giving baby aspirin unless they know there is a problem, and usually they wouldn’t test until after two miscarriages, but they would run the recurrent panel if I wanted it. I told them to do it. It turned out I have a protein S deficiency, along with a couple of other clotting issues.
When my next cycle after the miscarriage started, I had a giant cyst and couldn’t start any meds. I became really down after this. Luckily though, the cyst shrunk a week later and was able to start clomid. A week after that, I had 3 mature follies and scheduled my IUI for 4/25.
I don’t usually test early, but for some reason I tested 10dpiui – and at night. I saw a faint, faint, line, and decided it was an evap line or leftovers from the trigger. At 12 dpiui I tested again, and there was a darker line… I was pregnant again, I couldn’t believe it. When I got my beta back from the RE they started me on baby aspirin and lovenox.
I couldn’t enjoy the first few weeks at all, I was so nervous because of the miscarriage the last time. When we saw those heartbeats the day before our anniversary, I couldn’t believe the miracle that we had created.
So far everything is looking good, but I am still nervous every day. As many of you have unfortunately experienced, miscarriage changes you forever. And IF is something that is always with you.
I am sorry this was so long, but I wanted to share my story with all of you. A little while back, it was mentioned that the ladies on this board have formed a sisterhood, and I truly believe that. I hope that although I have “graduated” that I am still welcome in the sisterhood, because each of you have become part of my life. I wish each and every one of you the best and that you will all be blessed.
