I am NEVER leaving this job!
On top of the plethora of other benefits, through a contract with my job, I just joined the most elite sporting club in Philadelphia, all for a whopping $200, when the normal fee is $1350 per year!
This place has an indoor olympic pool, in the ladies lockerroom there is a sauna, steam room, and whirpool, there's also a racketball, squash, and basketball court, boxing ring, every machine has it's own satellite hd flat screen TV with 120 channels, a running track, a separate, private pilates/yoga studio, full amenity locker room stocked full with towels, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers, etc. And, a Spa 
And, as part of the package, I get a free 60 minute massage, 30 minute facial, swimming lesson, racquetball/squash lesson and a free private lesson on the pilates reformer.
Now, if I can just convince the federal government to give some IOTA of paid maternity leave, I'd have ZERO complaints about my job!

Isn't it crazy how they'll provide these great benefits and hook ups but no paid maternity leave?? It's so ridiculous... what does this country have against paid maternity leave?

Ooooh, that sounds nice! And I didn't know you lived in Philly. I'll have to remember that. DH and I are thinking about moving to that area (possibly) within the next few years......

I'm not too sure! All I know is headquarters set up a contract with the Sporting Club at the Bellevue - they're allowed to give 25 employees in our office the deal, but I think it's only offered through our agency

well good for you!! i have gotten great cell phone, hotel and rental car deals but this one is the best so far! LOL

Instead, federal employees can bank an unlimited number of hours of sick time. There is no short term disability for federal employees. Oh, and they used to have a program where people could donate leave time for fellow employees who had unexpected illnesses and had exhausted their leave time. I don't think they did that for people out with babies, though, and I don't know if they still do that.

They do - and employees do donate leave for maternity leave, though I don't think as much as given for maternity leave as it is given for serious illness.
Banking unlimited sick time doesn't help all that much for newer employees - I have like 4 days in my bank - if I were to get pregnant now (knock on wood), it would only give me about 2 weeks worth of paid maternity leave by the time I went out And then, I'd have no leave for when I came back to work!
