I am expecting a rainbow!!!
So I didnt know when to officially come out on this board but I just had my 12 week appt and everything looks great with the baby so I thought this would as good of a time as any.
I am a bit anxious and apprehensive since we lost our daughter Olivia earlier this year at 23 weeks due to my incompetent cervix (IC) but I have to have faith that we have done everything we can to prevent a loss due to IC which includes an abdominal cerclage which cures IC and I have a team of doctors who are monitoring me super closely.
I am super happy to be pregnant again but so sad and afraid that the worst can happen at any point in time. I am trying to work out my anxiety in therapy but its a daily battle that I struggle with. I think as this pregnancy progesses I will feel a bit more comfortable in my uncomfortability but I know I wont be relaxed until I hold my baby in my arms.
I miss my daughter every day and I know she is watching over her brother or sister. I have hope that that this will be the baby that we take home. Our rainbow baby!!!
For those who are not familiar with what a rainbow baby is a rainbow baby is a baby who is born after a parent loses a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
"It is understood that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of any storm. When a rainbow appears, it does not mean that the storm never happened or that we are not still dealing with its aftermath. It means that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover, but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope."
