Helping (since this if Families Helping Families) the poster realize that when her husband gets his Rolex back or buys another one, maybe she should tell him that he shouldn't bring it to places where people steal your stuff.

Well thank heavens we have you here to guide us and help us see the error of our ways. You are so incredibly helpful.Chat Icon

Re: Hubby was robbed at the gym this morning

My husband has a friend who parked his car in a train station in a not so nice area....and left a credit card in plain sight on the dashboard. When he went to get his car at the end of the day, he found his window smashed in and the credit card (and some other things) gone. He was to blame for that because he was not careful with is belongings!

Your husband was clearly not to blame for what happened. He intentionally took steps to prevent anyone from seeing his valuables, and keeping them locked up. He cannot be blamed for someone else lacking any morals and stealing from him.
And it's disgusting that anyone would suggest it's his fault.

I'm sorry people are being rude....and I'm even more sorry that they can't see that they're being rude!

I hope he gets his stuff back soon!

I'm pretty sure I wasn't nasty either time and I have nothing against you personally. I am responding to the post, not the poster.

Last time, I just said that the way you worded your original post made it seem like you were being spiteful. If you recall, i also apologized when I found out other details that you had left out of your original post and took it back.

And as I pointed out last time, since I have no idea who you are in real life and you have no idea who I am, why do you care so much about what I'm posting?!

Sweetie, dont gas your head up that I care so much about your psotings. I tend to stay out of drama posts because if and when I want i can be the biggest nastiest b*tch and I can truly say some evil %hit. I choose not to. I have never, not on LIW or LIF had a drama fight nor has anyone made me feel like I was wrong or in the case of this post stupid, and I quote "maybe she will tell him to not put his stuff where it can be stolen" Your words are dripping with sarcasm and I'm not one to back down when someone offends me or mine. A tad passive aggresive for my taste. Take care now

A seemingly innocuous post about a poster's DH being ROBBED AT THE GYM - turned into THIS.

Just when you think you've seen it all on LIF, BAM! You get a topic like this.

I'm gonna go now and kick a kid while they are down on the ground in pain, from tripping over a rock they should've seen 2 miles away.

ive learned around here it doesnt matter how many times you "take it back" or apologize for someone interpreting your post the wrong way... it all depends on who you piss off and how many followers each of them have... :) just my $0.02Chat Icon

Andrew really, i accepted your "apology" Nothing else was said to you after my last post, what others said I have no control over. No need to interject yourself into this AGAIN. This is not the first time this person has been rude to me. Here is .01 back from your 2

you know what? i bet her dh feels pretty bad that he had his stuff stolen and is beating himself up pretty good saying "i never should have brought my watch and ring to the gym...damn it!"

so pointing out the obvious is a bit redundant, don't you all think?

My DH left his $300 Bose headphones in his car. We live in a coop so it's a large parking lot. They were in his glove compartment and got stolen, along with a bunch of other things totaling more than $500.. I hold him partially responsible because he should have known better than to leave things like that in his car.

Certain crimes are preventable.

Ok so your husband didnt leave the headphone is plain sight, he took the time to hide them so to speak. I'm sure he must have locked his doors and more than likely put on the car alarm right? He did his part in preventing a crime, took all necessary precautions? Its a known fact that cars are broken into every day. So KNOWING that cars are broken into, even with precautions taken he is going to be partially responsible?? He did his part, the fact that some people have 0 morals doesnt change the fact that precautions were taken.

In the same sense if a woman is walking down the street in a seedy high crime area at 11pm wearing her everyday jewelery and is attacked and raped (say her car broke down and her cell phone was dead and she had no choice but to walk to a phone), is she partially responsible because she was in the area when she KNOWS that its a high crime area. Of course everyone is going to say no, not her fault, so why is it ok to say oh well you knew the locker room had break ins even though you took precautions and locked up your stuff, or you left $300 headphones in your car, or you left your doors unlocked????

Honda Civics are the most stolen car in the US, people still buy them. If your Civic gets stolen its partially your fault because well you know the civics are a thiefs preferred car.

UGGGH I"M DONE

I once left my GPS out in my car. In my driveway on a quiet dead end street.

Someone broke the window and stole it.

You know what..I was still ******. Everyone said "well you shouldn't have had it in plain sight" YEAH NO SH!T but some jerk STILL broke MY car window and stole MY GPS so I had a right to be angry and feel violated.

I am sorry you DH was robbed Chat Icon

don't listen to the negative..
You are right. Rolex, timex, swatch doesn't matter..
Wedding bands are so personal..
I'm very sorry he was robbed, I would be heartbroken. You feel so violated after things like this happen and you don't need people after you for fault.

Re: Hubby was robbed at the gym this morning

your husband SHOULD HAVE been able to leave HIS BELONGINGS any place without fear.

saying "he should have known better" is excusing disgusting behavior from an *******. anyone who steals from another is an *******. plain and simple.

it is NEVER EVER the victims "fault". EVER. to say otherwise lessens culpability of the disgusting *******. and as a society, we should not be doing that at all.

Re: Hubby was robbed at the gym this morning

does anyone really think that the victim is at fault?

Just because there are degenerates in our society doesn't mean we live in fear.

I would think that this gym probably would have beefed up security and made it safer.

This is why I think it's an inside job.

Can't live in fear.

I despise when people come on here when someone is venting and have to throw in their HTT opinion for good measure...

Bottom line is Stacey's husband's stuff got robbed and that was crappy. She didn't ask people to chastise her or him and say they should have known better..what does that do besides cause drama..

Same thing happens on Relationships when people ask for advice and then people respond and say "no advice, my DH treats me like gold but I hope things get better for you"..Chat Icon
