How often do you wash your newborns/infant's face?

I usually use warm water and a cotton ball in the AM and at night. Then I apply Aquaphor, or cream, etc.

I wonder if this is too much since she's got a little dry skin.

Also, do you ever use soap?

I did not use soap for him at all on his face since he also has dry skin, until last fall (I think he was 10 months then).

We wash their faces in the bath at night with a washcloth, no soap. Now that they are starting solids they need a pretty good wipedown after eating too.

We used Cetaphil (I actually have been using it for years) when needed. It's very gentle.

I wash his face in the bath at night but do not use soap and in the morning I usually use wet cotton balls.

I usually wash a couple times a day ~ In the morning and night (in his bath) ~ I do not use soap yet on his face (he has sensitive skin)

only in the bathtub Chat Icon we merely blot his face with tissues all day

so far, so good... no pimples, rashes or anything like that

(I should add, though, that DS doesn't use a pacifier... so that helps substantially with the sticky factor)

Re: How often do you wash your newborns/infant's face?

5.5 mths old, been using soap since about 3 mths old. I only use Dove unscented bar soap. I put a little on my fingers and rub it around, then wipe off with a washcloth. I mostly do cheeks, chin and forehead (not around eyes). I do this when I bathe her only, other days just get wiped with warm water.

Some days the cheeks appear a little dry. I either leave them and they get better or I use a dab of vaseline unscented skin lotion on them.
