I"d say an hour since they have small digestive systems, two hours if really impacted.
Continue to give liquids too (not prune juice, water) if they're over a year.

When DS doesnt go I give him the prunes from gerber (he is up to the food) and it happens pretty quick ~ an hour or two tops

Re: How long for prune juice to start to work?
Never tried juice.
We have used the Gerber prunes stage 1 (many times). It usually takes at least a few hours for the first poop.
Then he poops 2-3 times within the next 24 hours. It cleans him out good!

Well gave her an ounce per the doctor's orders at 4am.
By 7am.. no movement
Oddly enough though, she seemed happier??? Guess she likes the taste of prune juice. *shrug*
Do you think im a crazy mama if I call up daycare to check on her poop?

Re: How long for prune juice to start to work?
I wouldn't call the ped just yet.
Wait a few more hours. Sometimes it really needs to "marinate" :aah:
Unfortunately, we once had to take a q-tip and go up the butt That was when he hadn't pooped in 5 days.
Even that took over an hour to work.
You can also give a warm bath. In the bath do small circles on her abdomen. That may help get things moving.
Has it really been that long since her last poop?

Nope. You wouldn't be the first one to do it.
You also may want to warn them!

Whoops, sorry I misread that!
I'd definitely give daycare a call. Can't hurt. I know when Ryan is having poop issues, I am constantly smelling his tush for some goodies
