How is Bay Shore south of Montauk by the water?
We drove around today and the area was beautiful! I know There are shady parts of Bay Shore but this area near the canal was beautiful.

That area is really nice - I think it's safe, etc. too but not sure. Bay Shore is really coming around, there is a big push to revitalize Main Street.

It's very nice. But the houses south of Montauk are  . My MIL asked around about the area. Apparently the district isn't bad- unless your child falls in with the wrong crowd.

That area is nice, but Main Street is still very sketchy. DH's good friend opened a really nice restaurant on Main Street but at night it can be dangerous if you get a spot far away. And I have not heard great things about the district, but I knew people who paid extra to go to Islip instead.

My DH says its really really nice there!!! all parts of a town has a shady part but check out the school system for that area that will really help you.

That part of Bay Shore is very nice. And Brightwaters has some beautiful homes also. The ones on the water, by the lake and canals can be very .

4 of my nephews are in the bayshore school district and it has changed so much. Its becoming VERY good..lots of programs that other school districts are no where near offering, bilingual etc. Also their test scores are some of the best on LI. This adds to thr price of those homes, but good possibility for the future of the area.
