How did you find your haircutter?

I've been going to someone for years and unfortunately I'm not happy with the cuts lately. I've been looking online, but not sure how to find someone that could give what I want. The few times I went to someone else with than my regular haircutter, it was always screwed up.

word of mouth, I was with my last one for 15 or more year and just changed. I needed a chang, decided to try my mom's hair dresser because I wanted to try her style of cutting. Other wise, my guess is just picking a salon, walk in take look and feel of the place and try it

Funny enough, I'm actually going to the man my mom uses now. I have been going to the same salon since I was a kid, it's a really big place with at least 15 hair cutters at any given time. I just switch around when I feel like I need to. I've never been one of those people who worried about " breaking " up with my hairdresser. They are professionals and don't care. My money is still going to the same business.

When I moved to a new town I had to depend on google reviews. Luckily the first place I tried I really liked.

Word of mouth. I had a friend whose hair I liked so I asked them where they got it done.

honestly - Groupon!

When we moved into our new neighborhood, I was tired of driving 30 - 40 minutes just to get a haircut.

Bought a Groupon to a salon, took whoever they gave me, and didn't LOVE it.

Tried another Groupon at a different salon, again taking whoever they gave me, and I love her!!!

Recommendation from co-workers. There were a a couple of them going to the same salon and same person. Gave her a try probably 12 yrs ago and even though I live about 45 minutes away now, I still go to her. In fact I'm going tomorrow! Can't wait!

I asked on Facebook and specified the area. A few friends answered, I started with the closest, and it was a perfect fit. Before that I used to go to ransom places--was never happy, except at 1 place near my office, but stopped going when my office moved.

If you are on LI, you could ask here too.

Oh yes, please recommend a good place. Would love some recommendations. Been going somewhere for years but have not been happy for a while. I live in western Suffolk but willing to drive to Nassau no problem as I drove far for my last place.
