How can I set-up a slide show for my parents Anniversary Party?

I've seen it done - but don't know how to do it...do I need to buy/rent certain equipment?
I don't have a laptop - but my brother does - can I do it from there? If anyone has done this , please inform step-by-step.thanks!!

I know you can create a slide show on Picasa. I'm not too sure of how to hook up the lap top to the screen. I know there are cables (the ones with the white, red and yellow jacks) that you can connect, but connect to what? No idea! I hope some of this helps!

You need a projector. You can probably rent one. Or your place may have one. You need to hook the laptop up to the projectore and then open your document. It basically acts as the monitor for your computer while you have it hooked up.You can also make a slide slow at One True Media with music.

I used BabyAvocado's advice and downloaded Microsoft's PHotostory for free. Imported photos, picked a song & burned a DVD. It was very easy to use.

If you don't have a DVD burner & are in LI, I could help you out.

Another way is to use Powerpoint but I don't think it comes out as nice & is harder to time the photos.

Shutterfly also has a DVD photoshow tool - and right now they are on sale for $15.99.
