Honest question for Trump supporters

I don't want this to get bad but I have to ask a question. I am home on medical leave right now and have been bored so perusing Donald Trumps tweets. Just this morning, he has already tweeted 7 times. In researching, most of his tweets are repetitive and also berating others. What are your feelings on his twitter account? Do you think that he should be allowed to express whatever he wants on social media? What repercussions, if any, do you think this has on the world?

Re: Honest question for Trump supporters

I'm not a Trump supporter however, I do feel that his behavior is very unbecoming of a President of the United States. He should NOT be rapid fire tweeting every single day about EVERYTHING that pops into his head. I feel that his tweets are immature and EXTREMELY unprofessional. As an American citizen, I would hope that our leader would have more presidential matters to attend to rather than tweeting nonstop all hours of the night.

While I understand that in this day and age social media will always be a factor I do think his handlers need to make sure that his tweets are mostly benign, appropriate and professional. He really needs to STOP with the knee jerk attacks on people because he doesn't like what is said about him, he needs to STOP constantly criticizing the media as he is undermining their right to freedom of press and freedom of speech, he needs to STOP tweeting jabs at other nations and leaders, he needs to STOP tweeting and criticizing others in government, he needs to STOP patting himself on the back and he needs to STOP using Twitter as his own public ranting platform.

He's no longer a private citizen. He holds the safety of this nation and its people in his hands. He is suppose to set an example and lead this country with a modicum of dignity, grace, and professionalism and he's not doing ANY of those things. His tweets are a disgrace and an embarrassment to every American citizen.

He needs to reign himself in and conduct himself in such a way that the country and the world will take him seriously, feel confident in his leadership, and have hope for the future. His toddler like rantings are divisive, unproductive, unbecoming, and tactless. He needs to stop.

I still don't get how he's keeping it. LOL. I keep thinking of CEO's of major corporations tweeting like that and I cringe, can't believe it's our future Prez.

I'm a Trump supporter but I don't have Twitter and I'm not really deeply into politics honestly.

He does act immature I'll admit but he'll learn. I remember Bush Jr. sounding like a complete bumbling fool but he practiced his speeches or something and got better.

Can you imagine if this was your doctor, your child's doctor, your child's teacher or someone else you hold to a high regard ranting and acting irrationally like this.
I can't imagine anyone would continue seeing this doctor or want this teacher teaching their child.
So for the life of me I can't understand why this is ok for him.

I am not a Trump supporter and was going to stay out for that reason, but I'll throw in my .02

I have no issue with him having a Twitter account, or using social media. Obama has a WH Twitter and FB page. But my concerns are:

- How secure is his account? What if he is hacked and the hacker writes "Getting ready to launch a missile at China!" We're dead, for real. Because he has a history of posting inflammatory stuff.

- He needs to stop referencing companies because his Tweets interfere with the stock market.

- Also he needs to recognize that his account is not a substitute for speaking to the media and the public the way it's been done before- he needs to be open and ready to answer questions. He does not have that accountability on Twitter.

I don’t want this thread to turn into something else, but there is a YUGE Chat Icon difference between being “green” and then getting better at something - and being immature, hot-headed and unprofessional.

Re: Honest question for Trump supporters

I just had to respond to this post. Trump's twitter account is out of control. I voted for HRC reluctantly. I wanted Bernie. I am completely anti- trump. However....

I can understand why people voted for him. Most people I know voted for hillary but the ones that voted for trump I was able to have healthy discussions with. Trump has come at a time when people are fed up. Politicians are not trusted. He is not a politician. People see him as a strong, successful business man and think, maybe he can give our country that kind of success. I am admittedly a bleeding heart for illegal immigrants, for everyone really, but I can understand people's frustration with the illegal immigrant situation.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, we are sitting on a ticking time bomb. I am legitimately scared and I am not one to overdramatize. I don't think people realize what we have ahead of us. We have all been blessed to live in this country, ALL of us. Now there is this great divide and it will only deepen because true trump supporters support him fiercely. They adore him as much as anti trump people despise him. We have a madman at the wheel.

I am 40 years old and I am scared that I will be witnessing our complete downfall. I think I will be about 75 before we'll be crawling out underneath the muck of it all. It's just crazy.

Honest question for Trump supporters

This isn't about him being green. This is a man who has had PLENTY of experience being in the public and giving speeches etc.

He is man that DOES NOT CARE. It is all about him. He does not like to be told what to do or how to do it. It is his way or the highway. His business deals/meeting are that way and I do not expect anything different.

Just because someone supports him generally doesn't mean that they have to be ok with everything he does.

It is intellectually dishonest at best and morally reprehensible at worst to say you're alright with what the OP asked about.

I CANNOT have respect for someone who is either so ignorant or so morally repugnant as to be ok with what he is doing now. I don't see how anyone else can either. And I don't think I'm alone.

It's time to speak up. I only hope that those with positions of power will speak up to prevent massive and lethal upheaval in the world before it is too late for us and our children.

A president SHOULD be on social media. It's the best way to reach out to young people and a it's a platform to communicate with the world and reach the widest audience. But, you're right that THIS particular president needs to be removed from social media because he's consistently proven that he has no self control and is nothing but idiotic and inflammatory, and THAT is a complete embarrassment to say about anyone, but most especially the leader of the free world.

Also, I think his inflammatory tweets are purposefully distracting to cover up what's really going. I believe to some extent this is a calculated smoke screen, and the rest is his typical thin-skinned, fragile, delicate little immature ego getting in the way.

The way he acts goes way beyond having to practice how to give a speech....

This is what I think. People who voted for Trump in this area mainly did so not because they believe in him and what he personally can achieve, but rather for the belief that he will surround himself by good people and run this nation more like you would run a successful business. I don't think it's so dissimilar from the ideology that helped get Bloomberg elected. I can't imagine many of the "Trump Supporters" in this area think that his tweeting all this crap is good for anyone or anything and I am sure most find it embarrassing.

I find it really scary that your OK with comparing the president elect to an immature or inexperienced teacher or news anchor. And even if you're not on Twitter or not heavily into politics you should at least be aware of what he's doing instead of blindly or willfully ignoring him (not saying you are but some people are following him like sheep no matter what he says or does). People should take some personal responsibility for who they vote for.

I disagree. I do not believe any President or High Ranking Official should have an unfiltered social media account. Too many mistakes can happen and wrong information could be sent out. That goes for any President, not just because it's Trump. If they want a social media platform it should go through their communications office.

And I totally disagree about being a smoke screen. He is who is his whether you like it or not and he didn't just start tweeting to cover up some diabolical plan.

I don't think the picks are THAT bad. Meaning, they are not exactly what I expected but I believe they could be worse. I also think that the media loves headlines and so they are picking the absolute worst thing from each person's past and highlighting it to death. When I do my own research I find most of them are not what the media is portraying them to be. It would be ideal if he could pick someone that didn't have anything from their past to point to, but that's probably hard with anyone.

Obviously they shouldn't have an unfiltered unprotected account. Nowhere did I say that a president should tweet whatever whenever. What I said was a president should have a social media presence, obviously through the proper channels.

In regards to the smokescreen... Trump's inflammatory, idiotic, unpresidential tweets sure do take the focus off a lot more important issues that are going on. His ego is much too fragile to be given the position he is in.

I agree everyone comes with baggage. It just appears he's giving jobs to people who were loyal but have zero experience. Ben Carson has little to no experience in HUD. His son in law and sons have no political experience. The pick of head of vaccines is anti vaccine. And so on.

I have little faith but I'm trying.
