Re: Hobby Lobby??

Yes, it's a cross between home goods and Michael's IMO.

It opened already?? I can't wait! I've been to the one by my sister in New Jersey. This is not a place you can go with people. I need a few hours alone there lol

Is that because of the Supreme Court ruling in their favor?

Same here, just like I don't shop at Walmart for the employee policies.

It's so funny how people don't realize that Hobby Lobby covered almost all types of birth control, except for the few that might cause an abortion. Which is their right as a private company. Hobby Lobby even covered Condoms!!! I don't know about you, but my job does not cover condoms! When I think of all the money I could've saved over the years!!!

Not because of the ruling in their favor, but because they would even try to fight providing birth control to women, along with their anti-LGBTQ and anti-women stance in general

I don't get the big deal about this place. I went to one in FL and I was not impressed at all. Maybe I was expecting more because of all the rave about it but all it was like someone said was a micahles/acmoore and home goods put together. I didn't think the prices were that great either on ceartin things.

Maybe I have to give it another try to understand the love for it Chat Icon

Re: Hobby Lobby??

I like the middle section the best. I call it the Homegoods Section. They have a lot of different types of plaques and stuff to hang on walls which I like looking at since there are so many.

I think the outer aisles is definitely for the Artsy person. Those are the Michaels/AC Moore aisles. lol

For some reason though; I found myself to like the Florida store better than the one out here.

And for those that do go; just an FYI...........they close at 8PM and are closed on Sundays.

I went Monday night around 7........it was semi-crowded because everyone had wagons and they take up room. But the lines go pretty fast.

Hobby Lobby??

Wait you guys didn't have Hobby Lobby?
Wow.
They are a staple here. I remember working across from one when I was a in my twenties, working at a mall. Hobby Lobby was where it was AT for crafts since I was a kid.

We have both (by that I mean Hobby Lobby and Michaels) and meh
To me it's pricier than Michael's, less up to date, but sometimes has good deals.
I go to Hobby Lobby only because they have fabrics. I generally get better deals at Michaels. Plus Michael's takes their coupons. Hobby Lobby does do more school specific stuff here but it's generally just not worth it to us unless it's a very specific item that you need only carried there. For the general hobbist, Micheal's is fine.

They are a dying breed here. We can go to Michael's or JoAnn's fabric and get what we need. For less. But they get busy for the holidays as always.

Even the new stores here are just 'old'.

I went to see what it was like and The thing that hit me right away was how religious everything was., literally everywhere I turned was a framed psalm/ bible quote or cross or religious book. It made me uncomfortable.

Re: Hobby Lobby??

There's one by me in NJ and love it for some decorating. When I redid the boy's rooms I got a lot of stuff for DS1's sports themed room and DS2's superhero room. They have some nice stuff to decorate the house.

Always remember with them that if it's not on sale that week then go next week and it will be. THey do 50% off all the time.
I'm not crafty.
I know there was some issues here bc there are a lot of Jewish people in my town including myself and someone complained they didn't have any Hanukkah decorations. They have a small section now. I mean tiny, but honestly I bought some stuff from there for Hanukkah. LOL!
They are closed on Sundays.

Sounds like a store that belongs in the South.

I totally felt like I was transplanted in Arkansas. Even when I checked out the cashier made a comment about how I should thank " the big guy" for the great sale prices

It's a Christian store. You probably shouldn't go if it makes you uncomfortable.
