If you had it inspected then I am sure it is correct.

As for the legs, rear facing kids may scrunch their legs a little bit but there apparently has been no evidence of leg injury from rear facing accidents.

And at 8 months old, that is way too young to turn forward facing... the recommendations are now as long as you can possibly be rear facing... up to 2!

Thanks. I am defin not turning her around. Just worried how she ia fitting. I dont really think the ppl who inspected it were too great. Debating taking it put and putting the infant seat back in. Or leavin it and having it inspected again in NY.

If they inspected it, it should be fine -- but if you want to have it reinspected when you get to NY I would do that.

Where in NY are you going? We can look up locations for youChat Icon

emma's REMARKABLY tall (99th percentile) and she crosses her legs - or just sits however she's comfortable.

keep rear facing and have it inspected in ny!

Did you try reclining the seat?

We have the same exact car seat and DS is 14 months, over 26 lbs and 32 inches and he's ok back there. His legs aren't that scrunched up.

hmmm wehave the same one and DS is 9 months old and long. He didn't touch the seat. The officer who put it in put a noodle under the front part of the carseat to elevate it. Maybe that helped? I know that the suffolk police dept do it at republic airport. You would need to call first

Its fine for their legs to be scrunched but do you have it reclined? I have the Marathon and there is a recline feature rear facing

Re: Help Quick! Car Seat question Advocate, rear facing, legs

Thank you all. I have it reclined in the rear position. I also tried w the noodle. That is why I was confused. I will get it re-checked in NY and have my dad look at it. She is past out so I guess she is comfy. Lol.

AJ sat RF until she was over 2. Her legs folded right up. Indian style. She was always comfy.

Proportionally a baby is not the same as us. Which is why they are rear facing. They are much more limber and flexible too. Another reason to keep them rear facing.

I'm sure you're fine. Chat Icon

... you mean "criss cross applesauce" style.... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

There have been no documented cases of any leg injuries sustained by a rear-facing child because their legs were bent, crossed, or pulled in near their chest.

You'd rather a broken leg than a broken neck. Scrunch those legs.

Go to Hassell Auto Body. You don't need an appointment there, and they have three people on staff that do the installations.

Here is their site with address and phone number
