Heartburn
I have been suffering from heartburn since this afternoon. I am on biaxin, and I think it's affecting me today (not sure why today since I've been on it over a week). I tried tums, mylanta, AND milk and I'm still in so much pain. Does anyone have any home remedies?

Tums work best for me. I also use a drug store version of Tagament... that REALLY works well for me.

I used to have an ulcer and the Dr. said milk is the worst thing for any kind of stomach disorder lactic acid and what not so I would stop with the milk and drink lots of water instead.

Wow, I had NO idea. Someone mentioned milk to me - and I just had some more

for a stomach problem related to being on an antibiotic, take acidophilis. You can take that in addition to the typical heartburn remedies. I like Pepcid b/c my dog takes it so we always have some in the house. I kid you not, that is why I use Pepcid.

also, this may be gross but it has worked for me. Take a teaspoonful of white vinegar. Supposedly you get heartburn not because you have excess stomach acid but not enough so the heartburn is from your stomach trying to make more. The vinegar seems to help weird I know but it works for me.

I have severe acid reflux tot he point where it causes me to throw up, especially at night when I'm sleeping. I chew a piece or 2 of minty gum and it helps tremendously. Anything mint will help. Also, drink ginger ale.
