HCG levels are tricky, because there is no perfect answer as to where yours should be. My Dr drove me crazy in the beginning with my levels being too low, then too high, etc.
Basically, one test doesn't tell the story. You need 2 tests, 2 days apart to make sure your levels are increasing appropriately (which is why he's retesting on Friday - thats pretty normal procedure early on)
Please try not to worry about it until you see what happens on Friday (easier said than done, I know)
