NOT putting down your DC "drowsy but awake"? My DD has no problem going to sleep (she has a bottle right before bed) I'm afraid that when I do start sleep training, I'll have to change our entire bedtime routine just to put her down drowsy but awake. I know if it has to be done, I'll do it, but just wondering what everyone else did.
Thanks!

I was only able to put DD in her crib awake after we did CIO.
She was always a great sleeper, but what got us was that we had to rock her for close to an hour sometimes before we could put her into the crib. Then she would sleep til the morning.
We had enough of that and DH one night I was out just kissed her, said good night, put her in the crib and she CIO for 45 min, then 30 the next night, then 20 and ever since then we have been able to sing her a song, kiss her, put her in, sometimes even with the lights on and say good night when she's wide awake.

i never had a problem. we did CIO at 5 months. at that age, DS would sometimes fall asleep drinking his last bottle. that stopped after about a month and we put him down drowsy but awake. CIO still worked.
