HATE PETRO FOR OIL, SOOO MANY PROBLEMS - any good recs?
we've been having so much trouble with this company with their super high prices, way too frequent deliveries and reps who just don't help.
we bought my parent's old home and had the account transferred to our name. there was a new account number issued but the 2 accounts are linked to the same login online.
first they tried to charge my parents a closing fee. when that was resolved, petro kept delivering oil to our home and billing us every other week. it was ridiculous. even the family of 4 when my parents owned the account didn't have such frequent deliveries and we're only TWO PEOPLE!!!
needless to say i was super pissed, spoke to a ton of reps for a long time who insisted that they don't have previous data to go on since we started a new account. Meanwhile the 2 accounts are still linked to the same login online WTH??? Plus i called in to tell them specifically TO reference the old account and they gave me cr8p about how only the higher up account managers do that.
next, Petro stopped auto oil delivery then had a rep call and say that our halt on delivery is against our oil contract even though it was their own rep who placed the halt on the account. WTF?!?!?!?
next thing you know petro sends a tech out to tell me that they can set oil delivery on different schedules after account managers review the history. didn't i call in initially to ask for them to reference my parents account which is linked to ours and do this? OMGGGG seriously, do these account managers NOT know how to reference previous accounts? or is their system such a mess that they only know how to deliver and bill for oil?
then i asked the rep to email me a statement and they said they don't email. WHAT company does not use email in this day in age???
now the latest is the rep calling a million times and telling me my rates are up for renewal. WTH??!?!? are you serious?
my family and i have been customers for a good 20 years or so now and i can't believe any company would treat a long time customer this way. what is wrong with their management and customer service??? let's not even go to rewarding loyal customers. Petro is like a legalized mafia tribe or something.
PLEASE if anyone can recommend a new oil company, it would really be appreciated!!! 
UPDATE: I already contacted Janice from Petro last week but haven't heard back 
Update 5/29 - janice said that she will contact me over the summer with different rates since our next delivery isn't until september.

Being on the list this early, I will get the BEST cap price.

I hate oil companies in general..necessary evil.

Dear jan,
You should call your rep Anthony at 866-728-0646 to understand the situation which supposedly is all noted somewhere so I don't have to repeat the same situation to a nth person for the nth time. He s there m-f until 8pm!

That's so strange how they said they wouldn't email your statement b/c when we had an issue with our statement, it was emailed right away. I have to say after we had issues with them, they've gone above and beyond to make us happy including giving us a nice discount.

yes, very strange indeed. the rep that keeps calling me is not helpful and while the techs are generally nice when they visit, they don't know anything about my account. also the annual cleaning service from 2 years ago left my chimney flue pipe unattached! i was 7 months pregnant and the thing could have been leaking carbon monoxide. OMG NOT happy

i'm nursing and trying to sleep train a newborn so it's really tough for me to call bc it would req a pretty long amount of time talking (will wake ds). i'll see if there's an email to email since i have access to my ipad while nursing (it's quiet and doesn't wake ds up). honestly though, low rates would be nice but the treatment for such a long time customer.... really disappointed.

The rep from the exec. offices has posted twice offering to help resolve this and you can't be bothered to make a 2 minute call? She needs to know who you are - call and tell her who you are and that you can't stay on the line the long time you think it will take.

Not all that creepy - you can set Google Alerts to pick up anything referencing a company, your name, etc. I posted praise about my insurance company and the rep sent me a nice e-mail thanking me for recommending them. It's easy for companies to see when people are posting good or bad about them and I think it's admirable that they reach out to try and make things right when someone has a problem.

I know all about that but what is strange is how my real name nor my DH's name is not posted here, my email address is obviously not listed, and the account is in DH's name and they STILL found it. Not knocking that they want to make things right, and I am appreciative that they did right, but taking my username and somehow figuring out who I am, yes I find that a bit creepy.

i could not agree more. i have a toddler, i get it but it takes 2 minutes. honestly, excuses. sounds like this poster doesn't want to make it right. you can talk on the phone while BFing while your toddler naps.

I used Petro for 10 years and had alot of issues with them. Thereafter we switched to General Utilities and I've never had any issues.

Well I emailed the rep since I can type quietly On the iPad while nursing but have not heard back. My baby is super sensitive so he wakes up at the slightest noise and will not go back to sleep. Kudos to those with sleep easy babies! You are lucky parents.

Yup stay in the same room! Actually ds must sleep with me. As soOn as I leave the bed, ds wakes up. Hoping it's just a stage but he's going through a real fussy period and is very colicky

While I agree that talking to a lot of people that have different responses - for any company - is annoying, I think when you get a personal response with a phone number, you need to give a little credit that Jan is trying to make it right.
She's been with Petro for many years and I know she can help. I'm sure if you find the opportunity to give her a chance, you'll get this resolved.
My first year with Petro, I got a lot of deliveries too. But every year since, the scheduled deliveries have been perfect.

No advice, but to say my mom has been with Petro since they were Rite Fuel and has never ever in 30 years had a complaint. Any service person was clean, respectful and efficient. Never tried to over sell her on anything. As a widowed woman living alone, she was never taken advantage of and she is thankful for that. She has even chosen to stay with them when their prices were a tad higher than other companies because of her positive experiences.
