has anyones child under 18 months old ever had strep?

my father was just diagnosed with a severe case of strep...he has been in very close contact with my boys...i know they say its rare for babies to get it...just wanted to see if anyones baby had it and how you knew ( before the dr, what were the signs that made you bring them)

My DS had it at 10 months. I had to make my ped do the test and she was shocked when it came back positive.
He would not eat and he cried and sort of choked when he drank. He was just miserable and not acting like himself at all.
My 3yo never got it though.
